appt. update

yesterday I had my 16 week checkup.

It was fine, certainly not as interesting as my appt's at the RE's office!

I had a nurse practitioner see me and I didn't love her. she like moved through the appt. at lightening speed and I heard the HB but only for like a second and she couldn't tell me what the heart rate was. I"m going to make sure I don't see her again.  They want you see see all the doctors there through your pregnancy so your familiar with everyone at delivery, because who knows who will deliver you, so why did I see the NP?!

anywhooo. my anatomy scan in scheduled for January 8th!

Re: appt. update

  • Yay for the anatomy scan being scheduled! The monthly appointments always seem to go by so quickly. It's literally pee in a cup, get weighed, bp, measure your stomach, and heart beat. My doctor only really chatted if I had a ton of questions, which I could never think of until I got home. Hopefully you don't get the NP again!

  • Yeah, most of the time, the appt was super quick. My doc always told me the hb when she did it.

You go to All About Women, right? If so, you don't have to see everyone. I saw Dr. Bedder for every appointment except one because she was off. I figured that there are more people than you can see so I may rotate and still not know the person when I delivered. The 2 nights I called in after hours to be seen (potentially for delivery) it was people on call that weren't even in the group. I always had my questions in a note in my phone so I wouldn't forget and made sure all were answered before I left. Glad it went well though and your scan is so soon, yay!

  • @uderin02 I do got to All About Women.  it was weird I saw this NP named Patty and I just didn't like her at all.  thats weird they told me I should try to see everyone esp. if there is a chance i'll get a dr. thats not even with the group!
  • I've never even heard of Patty. Is she new? Anyway, if you want to see the same doctor (or Clare), tell them that. Your body. Your kid. Your rules. I don't think my monthly visits were ever very long either though so that may not change even if you do stick with one doctor. But yayyyy for the scan!! That's a fun appointment.

  • YAY for the anatomy scan!! That was one of my favorite days. <3

I think Patty is new. I haven't ever met her & I feel like I've done my rounds with every doctor there between my two pregnancies. The one doctor I hadn't met was actually who delivered R. Apparently I hadn't met her because she only did surgeries? I don't even know.

Anyway. I'd said at one point that I didn't want to see anyone except Dr. McCracken. I see her every year now. I saw Dina last year & never, ever, again. I prefer docs to NPs.
