Changing the covers on a baseboard heater?

I was wondering if you have any suggestions for replacing my baseboard radiator covers? They're looking a bit worse for wear and I am in the process of remodeling. Can I simply replace the sheet metal or is there more involved? Thx.

Re: Changing the covers on a baseboard heater?

  • You would need to buy replacement covers that match the dimensions of your current ones. Baseboard heater covers have rounded tops and bottoms because they clip on to metal pieces that are attached to the coils in the heater - a, just a regular piece of sheet metal wouldn't do the trick.

What part of the covers are looking bad? They come off very easily and can be sanded down and painted with a heat resistant paint. Are they broken or bent? That would be the only reason why I could see a need to replace them completely.
