Re: Randoms

  • I love love love my espresso machine :) I must say, I make an awesome latte! I used to be a Batista at a local coffee stand and then at Starbucks and I miss it so this is perfect!

DD is/was super constipated this morning. She finally had a massive poppy diaper but her belly still hurts. I feel bad because I know she constipates easily and I wasn't really paying attention to her diet or her diapers the past week because my mom and DH have been helping out along with other random family members.

I gave her ginger ale to calm her belly. She wouldn't drink her juice. I know it is soda and full of sugar but I feel like I did this to her so I am giving her a special treat.

I signed up for The Children's Place rewards card and they gave me twenty bucks to shutter fly! Yay!

  • 1. I cleaned and cleaned and organized galore this weekend.

    2. i've spent most of the morning day dreaming about tearing the carpet out of my house and replacing it with hardwood floors...I might start the demo on wednesday. it has to happen like ASAP.

    3. i'm trying to figure out if we'll put hardwood in the bedrooms as well as the main areas. I need to workout the costs associated with both.

    4. I can't stop. it all has to get done ASAP!

  • 1. I went to a Bootcamp class this morning, and got my butt kicked. It felt amazing!  Also did a 5 mile run on Saturday with my mom.  We haven't done that in 3 months.

    2. I've been temping to see if I've O'd at all after the m/c. Nope, nothing. It will be 6 weeks tomorrow, and I'm supposed to call the Dr's office if I haven't O'd or gotten AF by then. It means Provera. I don't want to take it. Maybe I'll just go the next 18-24 months of TTA, without a period. Sounds great (yes, I know I can't ignore the PCOS and have to get a period to avoid worse things in the future).

    3. Taking Provera means starting another cycle, and that cycle possibly being long again.  Then it means having the discussion with my Dr about getting back on BC. I want nothing to do with the lack of sex drive and crazy hormones again.

    4. My mom, best friend, and I are all going to see Catching Fire again tonight. YAY!

    5. I love that I'm finally starting to feel closer to my normal self again. It's nice to actually be okay with stepping out of the house, and doing the things I love like running and going to a movie.

  • @brij2006 Are you sure your levels are down? I haven't had AF since August. On Dec 18th my levels were still 269. My doctor wants them under 5 and says that I won't have a period for 4-6 once my levels are low enough.

Another random, I seem to be the only person I know who #1 didn't have a d&c and #2 has had their levels checked since the m/c.

If my levels were still over 5, would they still read a positive HPT?  I took one last week, and it was negative. Not even the faintest of a 2nd line.

I know luckyangel has been having her levels checked too.

  • @nightmare_of_beauty That's what I've read too, and I got a negative test just 2 days after.  So I assumed it was already out of my system.

It's usual for me to have to end a cycle with Provera though. I've only gotten AF on my own twice in a year. Once was when I O'd on CD72, and the other one was so light that I had to call in and ask if I count it as AF so we could start Clomid.

You are the only person I know who is getting their levels checked, but not the only one who didn't have to have a D&C.  It soundsl like you just have a proactive doctor to me, which is awesome.

Brij - I o'ed when my levels were around 100, and got my first period when my levels were around 50 which was exactly 6w post d&c.  I know everyone is different and PCOS can mess with things, but as you know, I have PCOS too, so I wanted to give my perspect.

Also, maybe it's different in Canada, but I was never offerered provera and am not aware of the implications of not having a period... I am more regular now, but I had cycles that were anywhere from 70-100 days long.  Is there a reason you *need* to go on provera?  Could you not just ride it out since you are TTA anyway?

Do it! I have hardwood in DS's room and carpet in the other two bedrooms and I hate carpet in bedrooms! Its so hard to vaccum under the beds and I love being able to just sweep his room and know it is totally clean.  I found carpet to be more expensive than I thought when it came to paying for installation and underpad and the actual carpet.  DH installed our hardwood, so it was pretty economical in that regard.

  • @nightmare_of_beauty I am sorry your numbers are not down yet. Is there a reason they aren't going down? Are they planning on doing anything if they aren't down by a certain time? I am sorry you are going through this. You don't have to answer if you don't want to. *hugs*

  • @lindsayandjamie I agree about my doctor, she is amazing and I am so thankful to have her. First thing she did seeing me after my u/s was walked in and hugged me.

I took provera once, but it was between BCs to get my period back to switch. It was not fun. My MIL had to take it because she wasn't getting AF, but wasn't in menopause. She didn't like it either.

@brij2006 If the doctor said to call than I would give them a call. Maybe they will check your levels before giving it to you.

  • @brij2006 a pregnancy test could come back negative and your levels could be over 5. I think cheapies have a threshold of 50 and EPTs have a threshold of 25.  Here's to hoping things regulate for you....

  • @wiggyslilsis You are so sweet! According to my doctor, it just varies between women, some take longer and some don't. No plans at the moment to do anything because they are going down.

I've read online about other women taking this long. I've also read about women not getting AF and becoming PR again right away. I'm too nervous of there being a problem if I did so that's why we're waiting. My doctor recommended at least one AF before TTC again.

@lindsayandjamie They want to do Provera after 6 weeks to see if it will sort of "jump start" my cycles.  That stinks that a HPT could come back negative even if it's over 5.  All I have a cheapies, so that's what I had tested on.

@nightmare_of_beauty FX they will do a blood test to make sure, and this can all be behind me.

Also FX that your levels get to zero so you can move on too. I think about you often with still being in limbo on everything.

Also, not sure if this makes you feel better but my midwife actually told us to go ahead and start TTC right away if we wanted to.  Your body will get pregnant if it's prepared to, and won't even if you have perfect timing, if it isn't.

And my mom actually said the same thing and since than I've been a bit more relaxed about BC, but I still get nervous. I don't think I'll ever not be nervous so I just need to jump in.

  • DH and i decided to pack up some clothes and drive to Texas to celebrate new years with my family.

I hate being away from my mom for holidays though. :(

I'm excited because my family in Texas don't know DD. My grandpa will get to meet her and I'm so happy about that.

We named DD after my grandma and I wonder if he's going to cry when he sees that DD has some of my grandma's features.

I have to help drive in a little while and DD just fell asleep so I'm going to take a nap :)
  • @wiggyslilsis You (and everyone else on this board) will be some of the first people to know when I am PR again. I'm being a lot more careful of who I tell too early next time, but I wouldn't have made it through my m/c without you girls (and GP too) so I can't imagine not telling you guys.

@bridget0117 if I mail myself to you, can I come to Texas too?
