Lodging recommendations for 19 people...Help

We are planning a family get together over the 4th of July weekend. It will be 10 adults and 9 kids (age range 6 mo to 15 years old). Would like a place that we are able to have possibly a area for larger groups to get together. Whether it is attached suites or a poolside room that we can sit outside the room, condo? A pool would be nice too. Thanks

  • This is in the Minneapolis area. Not picky about location in the area.

  • Hilton - Bloomington... Sofitel - if you want A+ all around for the entire stay - be aware it comes with a price tag... Hudson House Inn - Doesn't look like much, but it is reasonable, it's nice facilities (even if they could stand to have an update), they take great care of everything and catering on-site is great as well if you want to have a family dinner during the course of your stay...

  • Would you go to Rogers? We did our Thanksgiving/Christmas party at Sleep Inn & Suites (although now I think its a Holiday Inn) a couple years ago and loved it - great pool area, free breakfast, great customer service. We did rent the entire meeting room - but it wasn't a little room like some hotels have and not a huge reception room (big $$) that other hotels have. And they let us bring in our own food so we did a potluck style dinner. The meeting room can be split in two - we had 50 people so that's why we had the whole thing, and its just down the hall from the pool. They also gave us deals on guest rooms. I believe the guest room rate we had was $80 and the meeting room was $200. We had it booked from 4-8 but they said if no one had reserved it after we could stay in there - we ended up staying in there until 11pm! But we cleaned up after ourselves and I think we even vacuumed LOL - but a couple of us have worked in the hotel industry so we knew it would be appreciated by the staff since we hung out in there so long - but they didn't mind! Oh and if you don't stay in the meeting room - they do have a nice big area in the pool area to gather, and a second level where their game room is that over looks the pool area where you could stay. They do not have guest rooms off the pool area. Good luck finding a place!
