NBR - Where are my running ladies?

@packfan20 & I know there are more!  :)

I used some of my Christmas money to get a GPS running watch!  Since I'm signed up for a half-marathon (::gulp::), I figured I should get fancy & stop draining my phone data with my running app.  After going back & forth & reading lots of reviews, I decided on the Garmin 220.  I should have it today or tomorrow - I can't wait to try it out!

Did you get any running accessories for Christmas?

In addition to the watch, MH got me one of those hand held water bottles that kind of wraps around your hand.  I also used Christmas money to get a thin yet warm Columbia jacket so I can't use super cold weather as an excuse!  :)

Re: NBR - Where are my running ladies?

  • Hiiiiiiiii!

I still use my phone app and a digital watch but since I listen to music and run with my phone for safety, I'm okay with that.

I got lots of UnderArmour gear and some gift cards so my bro and I bought more stuff at the UA outlet store this week.

I'm looking for some thin but warm gloves with a pocket for the house key.

  • I got a great running jacket from my husband, and I think that's it as far as running paraphernalia goes. :)

@packfan20 Have you seen these? A little pricey but so cool!

    Saucony UltiMitt II, $40
Windproof material pulls over the glove to create a mitt for windy, cold conditions. When you warm up, the mitt stashes easily into the pocket on the back of your hand. What's left is a medium-weight, wicking glove with thumb and index finger ports. Comes with a small LED light (rechargeable via USB port) attached.
    Sizes: SX, S, M, L, XL.

  • i got a cute running shorts/skirt combo to wear for my half marathon in feb, an under armor shirt, a nice pair of running glasses and a thin down jacket.

I like the idea of the gps watch.  I run with my phone anyway but it def drains the batteries.

I keep seeing bloggers running in these skirt combos... are they really comfortable?  I would think that the skirt part would flap around too much.

They are super comfy!! I have 1 running skirt and 1 running dress and I adore them both. If I could afford it I'd have all my running gear be skirts/dresses, it feels so cute, comfy and yet sporty!

Per the christmas question I didn't get any running related gear this christmas but I do own a garmin gps watch that I've had for years (I don't have a smartphone) and I *love* running with it!

This sounds like hell to me, haha!  I'm completely content with my tanks and capris.

Ooooh, I am definitely checking those out!  The UA ones were $35 so these aren't that much more.

  • I miss running. We live in a very busy area for now though and I don't like running around here.

  • I got an UA sweatshirt and some pants.  I usually stick to running indoors but want to start running outside and my capris won't cut it in the winter!  I really want to sign up for a half marathon to keep me motivated but I'm scared to do it.  I was running regularly through summer but have slacked the last several months.  I really need to get back to it.

  • I got a Garmin watch too. I can't wait to use it (just got it today)

My BFF also got me an amazing cold weather running shirt.

You may likethis blog about the Garmin (its the 220 review but he does them all) it's way more detailed than the manual.
