Skin Care

I know we are all young in this group, but does anyone use any kind of anti-aging face products as a preventative? I saw the Cindy Crawford infomercial over the weekend and started looking into her skin care line. Some people love it, some people hate it. My mom used it for a while and loved it but had to stop for financial reasons.

I want to start something now because stress and genetics have caused the women in my family to age prematurely and I want to try to slow the process as much as I can. I use Burts Bees cleansers and moisturizers now, but I think I need something with a little more ass behind it. Im not a fan of using chemicals on my skin, but Im also not looking to look like an old hippy that refuses to use chemicals at 40 either.

Any suggestions?

Re: Skin Care

  • I'm clueless. I was at the mall yesterday and was going to go in to Sephora to get some advice, but M was on a mission to go to the Lego store. My skin is so sensitive, I'm scared to try anything.

I have a JC Pennys/Sephora gift card from Christmas. I wanted to look there before ordering anything else since I can use the gift card at the beauty counters too.
  • I personally dont use any by my dads FI uses the Olay Total Effects Daily Moisturizer and shes always raving about it. I just did a quick search on it on Amazon and it looks like other people like it too. Obviously its not going to give you any immediate results but it could be a good preventative moisturizer.

  • This is a super question!  I'm curious to read other responses.
  • I asked on my wedding board and it seems like the general population prefer Oil of Olay products. My mom has used their moisturizer for years so maybe I will go that way. Cheaper than the department stores.
  • My mom uses Oil of Olay and has for years. I didn't answer because I don't use anything really. Some Mary Kay eye cream but that's it.

  • I think the most important thing you can do at this point is keep moisturized!
  • I use melaleuca products, but really only their acne prevention stuff right now. I have sensitive skin, so I get wary. This stuff was on sale when I bought it & it hasn't bothered me at all. They have more stuff, but right now I'm too cheap to try it.
  • My skin loves Oil of Olay too! ;-)
