Fitness post

I feel like its been a while!

How has everyone been doing? Back on track after the holidays if they sidelined you?

I feel like I was a slacker over the holidays but am back in gear. I'm trying to get in 3 Zumba classes a week and doing some at home and doing the elliptical the other days.

I have completely fallen off the running wagon! I ran a couple times over the holiday since I could go during the day. Otherwise I cannot bring myself to go in the cold and dark! I'm worried I've lost so much of the endurance I built up over the summer!! There's a 5K I want to do early May so I need to start back up again at some point!!

I posted before about my gym being sold. So far my classes have stayed the same although 1 switched teachers. But there's still rumors the location will be closed completely. Hoping not!

Re: Fitness post

  • I am trying, slowly, to get back on track.  In the past week, I've done 2 on demand work outs...I hated the guy the whole time and felt like I would need to have my legs amputated the next day. and it was considered a beginner workout.
    :((

    But baby steps, right?

  • I definitely took the holidays off, so getting back into it. I got suckered into, I mean signed up for, a 5K the last weekend in April, so I'm using that as motivation. I've either hit the gym or used the treadmill at home several times in the past couple weeks. This week the gym is insane with students being back and resolution gym goers, so I decided to skip today and will do a yoga on demand thing tonight.
  • I have been a total and complete slacker.  I am running with a friend on Saturday, so I am hoping that gets me started on a regular routine.
  • I am motivating my self with new shoes. I really want a pair of Nike Flyknit shoes so if I work out for next two months, I will get them. Although I did buy myself some new Under Armor pants at Dick's last week on clearance and I love them but I can't wear them unless I work out. So I have moved the Bosu into the house and have been using it. I am also considering getting a set of Barre videos.

  • I've gotten back into the swing of things.  I've been going to the gym at work 2 days/week and have been running/walking on my treadmill at home and am getting ready to start the 30DS.

Last night I jogged for 22 minutes straight...which is unheard of for me.  I've never been able to go for more than 10 minutes at a time before walking.  I was all "Go ME!"  until I went to log it into my fitness pal to log it and my speed was so slow it wasn't even considered jogging.

So...I guess I jog in slow motion.

  • Amy---that doesn't matter, I'm a super slow runner, but I figure I'm out there and I'm doing it.  Well, was doing it anyway. fell off of that wagon back in October.

But thumbs up to you for going that long, that is an achievement!!

  • I've been doing a mostly P90x3 routine with some Focus T25 in there for some more cardio.  Love it.  I need to get back on the bandwagon as I keep promising myself I will do a boudoir shoot when I see my wedding day weight (20 more lbs to go....but considering I've had 2 babies and am at my prepregnancy weight, I'm satisfied but would love to see the wedding day weight!)

I love P90X3...I never thought I would enjoy the yoga as much as I do and I love the martial arts and cardio too in it.
