Today is brought to you by coffee

I need coffee!!

My boys were not great sleepers last night and of course it's my first day alone. We're an hour in and everyone is living! That is a good start I think. My coffee is waiting to be poured but of course first I must nurse ds2 because obviously that can't wait even though we just did this 1/2 hour ago.

Re: Today is brought to you by coffee

  • Hello!
Yay for a good night of sleep last night for the boys!! I hope you have a good day!!

I don't think I like working until 11. I end up coming home, checking my email, then reading for a while. I never went to sleep until like 12:30, so I slept in super late as a result. Now I feel like I've missed my entire morning!

The school is doing this trip to Washington D.C. March 7-12, and I really want to go. You have to attend this information session and apply to attend, so I'm going to one of the info sessions tonight. I'm hoping this one friend of mine would come, also, because I don't want to go alone. It's only $50! I was only in D.C. once, and we didn't get to see a lot so I'd love to go back.

  • Good Morning! I went to the dentist this morning. That is done. Now just another day of work. Hopefully today goes quickly since I just don't wanna this week.

Echo: Hopefully the boys sleep better tonight for ya.  What do you want to know about the circut machine? I would be happy to answer anything I can. Also if you were ever going to get a eletronic cutting machine I would do your research. The machine by Silhouette might be better suited for your use. They are the same type thing but instead of cartiages you can buy indiviual graphics and I read their user inferface is easier than the cricut. Though the cricut machine is improving their software. Also cricut must be releasing something new soon. They keep sending me teaser emails. I am really curious what it is. All in all I was concerned that this machine wouldn't be worth the investment but I can say that it has paid for itself easy questions. Plus I get enjoyment out of it.

  • I think I would also get enjoyment out f it. And I could use it for some crafts with the daycare. I should ask for one for my birthday. I like crafts and now here I am with two boys. Boys don't like crafts usually!l lol maybe next one I will get my crafty girl!

We have survived the morning so far. Almost lunch time then nap time. I can do it!!!

A trip to Washington sounds great jlq! I want to go on a trip somewhere. I guess we are this summer but I want something sooner.

JLQ: Trip WDC does sound like fun! I would like to go back to DC again too. I still need to see the Jefferson Memorial. Somehow I missed it the first time. I also want to go to NYC and see a show. O and see the Statue of Liberty since I never have, haha! Don't feel bad about sleeping in. After getting home from work it is normal to unwind. And if I was up till 12:30 my butt wouldn't be up wicked early either.

Echo: Where are you going this summer again? I forgot! O and you are always welcome to visit Rochester, NY, hahaha!

We're going to Prince Edward Island - on the east coast of Canada. My moms parents are from there and she still has extended family there. We're going for one of my great aunts and uncles like 60th wedding anniversary or something. My parents and 3 of my 4 sisters and their families are going. The 4th is moving in the summer and having their 4th baby in May and the older kids are starting a new school in September so they're trying to not do too much.
  • So. I think we might start looking into buying a house. DH's been talking about it for months. I doubt we'll be leaving this area anytime soon. DH really likes the school he teaches at, and it seems more and more silly to keep putting money into something that isn't ours. I'm just not sure I'm ready for that type of commitment.

When I was in DC before I went to the Smithsonian museums, saw the outside of the White House, and that was about it. haha! The trip was specifically for the Smithsonian museums, and it was great, but I feel like I could have seen so much more! I think DH is kind of upset that I'm thinking of going, but how could I pass up the opportunity? It's only $50!
Echo - Yay for vacation! Is Prince Edward Island far from you guys? I'm terrible with geography!

  • Just do it JLQ!! Home ownership is scary but amazing at the same time. The best part is its yours. If your windows let more air in than keep out you can fix it. The worst part is that if something breaks or needs repairs you have to pay for it.

  • Ya see all I hear there is "you will buy a house, and everything will start to break in it and you will go break from repairs". I know that's not at all what you mean, but I can't help hearing that! I'm so terrified that we'll buy a shit hole place and end up in over our heads. DH is very handy, but he can't do everything. And houses here are sooo expensive, I feel like we wouldn't get crap for the amount we are comfortable spending.

  • HAHA yea I hear what you are saying. If you are thinking about it you should attend some open houses. That way you can see what you like and what you don't like. It also will allow you to meet relators. Relators generally suck but you might meet one of the good ones. You might also want to talk to a bank to see what you can actually afford or what you need to get straighten out before you actually start the process, etc.

Either way you won't buy a lemon. If your H is handy than he will know what to look for and what to not. It will be okay no matter what.

  • Home ownership is fun. My suggestion when looking is look at every detail. We were fooled by a fresh coat of paint with a few things in our house. Thankfully dh is handy and has friends who are and so is my dad so all our problems have been fixed just with parts.

Prince Edward Island is half the country away. We're pretty much central and it's on the coast. It would take about 24 hours of driving straight through but well be stopping. I know nothing of American geography so don't feel bad.
