 2) What was your first job?  My first out of high school was a receptionist at a nursing home.

 3) What can your hear right this moment?  The hopes and dreams of myself and my coworkers dying a slow, agonizing death by continuing to work here.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for?
I was in 4-H. I had a whole wall of ribbons from various projects. I think the ones I won most often were stamp collecting, needlecraft, computers, and microwave cooking. (Yes, microwave cooking was a category at the fair. You had to bake cakes and brownies in the microwave. It required a lot of trial and error!)

2) What was your first job?
Book reviewer for The Indianapolis Star.

3) What can your hear right this moment?

Keyboards. I share a big office with four other engineers.

2) What was your first job? I was a cashier at Toys R Us. I ended up working for the company for over 10 years.

3) What can your hear right this moment? Desperation from myself and my coworkers.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for?  Bunches!  Most recently, I got a Most Valuable Colleague award at work a couple of weeks ago.  It's a certificate, and it's still sitting on my desk, soon to be buried in papers, probably. 

2) What was your first job? In HS, I worked at the catalog and credit desk at JC Penney during Christmas.   ETA: My first real job was as the attorney for the RI State Division of Motor Vehicles.  Good times.  Whenever people would ask me what I did for work, I would always just say "I work for the state."

3) What can your hear right this moment? Cars on the highway and the a truck backing up at the construction site outside my office window.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for? Not since college. I was in the Honors College and we had a little awards ceremony for everyone who made it. 

2) What was your first job? I managed one of my parents' bakeries, then I opened my own little side cupcake business and I make fancy cupcakes for events/parties. 

3) What can your hear right this moment? My spotify playlist (Tessellate by alt-J) and various office sounds (printers, keyboard clacking, muffled conversations, phones ringing)

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for? There are two-one, in the fourth grade, I got a medal for reading a lot of books over the summer. The funny part is I went into the school year thinking I had read hardly anything. Two, a friend of mine & I went to a dinner/award celebration where she worked. She did the set up at the venue for this company and was then invited to attend the dinner. On all the tables, they had fake Oscar awards so we took one home. When we get together to play board games, whoever won that night, takes home the award. It's currently at our house

What was it for? I've gotten several awards at work, and in high school I received awards from the drama department and the home ec department.  

I was the Labor Day Queen for my hometown my junior year of high school, got a huge trophy, some scholarship money and got to ride in a parade. 

2) What was your first job? I worked in the jewelry dept at a department store in high school.

3) What can your hear right this moment?  The girls are watching Brave.  Merida is visiting the witch at the moment.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for? I won a state award for Cheerleading. SHUT UP! Also, I one an award for excellence in automotive my senior year in high school.

2) What was your first job? It was at an herb farm.  The legal kind.   I seeded and transplanted. 

3) What can your hear right this moment? The purchasing manager talking to my coworker.  The hum of the refrigerator, typing on keyboards.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for?  Yes, I have four Math Team trophies, for grades 8 -12 and I got perfect attendance trophy in K.  

2) What was your first job? I babysat and then I worked at my neighbors restaurant for years, even through college.  I loved that job, still miss it.

3) What can your hear right this moment?  The traffic outside my window and my audiobook.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for? I was MVP of my High School gymnastics team once, and won a bunch of "best costumes" during Halloweens past at work. 

2) What was your first job? I worked at McDonald's on an Army base. It was horrible for a multitude of reasons. A truly DISGUSTING related tidbit - I still have my uniform, and it still smells like grease. I'm now keeping it as a sort of experiment to see how long the stench survives. It has already been TWENTY ONE YEARS since I last wore it.

3) What can you hear right this moment? My boss talking to a coworker, the insanely loud a/c right over my head.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for?  I won an award in Girl Scouts, but I don't remember what it was for. I won a scholarship for college when I was in high school because of my GPA and for writing some essay about what inspires me or something. I wish I still had it but they kept the original and I lost the flash drive it was saved on.

ETA: I forgot I won the 4th grade spelling bee, then the school-wide against the 3rd and 5th grade contestants, and placed fourth for the district. :-B

2) What was your first job? Babysitting when I was fourteen. Real job would be assistant payroll/accounts at a company my MIL worked for. This would have been when I was seventeen and saving up for college.

3) What can you hear right this moment? My dryer running and one of my cats playing with something in the dining room. It sounds like a pen being batted around (killed).

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for?  I have a trophy from when my softball team was the best in our league.  It is from fourth grade.  I won some Spanish awards in high school and some Russian awards in college.

2) What was your first job? I started babysitting when I was 12.  My first legit job was working at a pizza place in 10th grade.

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? Nope  What was it for?  I wasn't very smart or athletically inclined.  I was just mediocre at everything.  Although I did win 2nd place in the 6th grade science fair but didn't get a trophy or award.  

2) What was your first job? I got a job at a mom & pop local bakery when I turned 14.

I'm certain I received awards and trophies for dance. I won a Martin Luther King Jr. essay contest and my school's Young Authors story contest when I was really young.

I was a cashier at Kmart for a brief time but I consider my first job a hostess at LoneStar steakhouse.

@MrsC7 I'm originally from the south side. I did freelance reviews when I was in middle/high school, so it's been a looong time. I think when Ganett bought the paper they may have switched to mostly shared reviews across their national papers. It became a very different news room after the acquisition and most people I know cut ties. I wasn't even sure if it was still in print!

1. I competed in DECA in hs and made it to state so I got a little award. Otherwise, not really. I wasn't into sports. I did get a letter for academics and music though.

2. I worked at a bagel place for 2 weeks. Worst experience ever. I quit and then worked at Chick-fil-a for 2.5 years. Much better experience!

1) I've won various academic (never athletic!) awards throughout high school and college. Recently, I helped write an application to AACN for the nursing unit I work in and we won the gold Beacon award! (Kinda like Magnet for an individual unit if you're in the healthcare world). I'm very proud of the MICU

2) My first job was selling programs at a race track. I was 11. I'm not sure how my parents thought it was a good idea to allow me to sit alone on a hill with a cash box at 11, but I never had any problems (except for the old guys paying me in cigarettes). Guess it was a different time!

3) My neighbors snow blowers and shovels. I'm sick of winter!

I won of a lot of awards in High School for Science Olympiad and other nerdy things, nothing that really sticks out as super special though.

Working at an amusement park on the boardwalk

1) Have you ever won a trophy or an award? What was it for?  I have won bowling trophies (not because I am a phenomenal bowler but because my team did better than other teams in the league), and I have won scholarship awards.

2) What was your first job? My first paid job (other than babysitting) was working the student union at my college.

3) What can you hear right this moment? I can hear the TV show Parenthood, which I am watching on TiVo. I can hear my heat clicking occasionally. I can hear my dog snoring. And I can hear some random apartment noises, like doors slamming and people walking.
