Difficult relationship....with my shoes.

I've given up heels. I have joint issues that make the pain unbearable.  So, I wear what I call comfortable nun shoes with my pant suits.  Anyone have a nun shoe to recommend that doesn't look like a nun shoe?

Re: Difficult relationship....with my shoes.

  • Lol, I would buy a good pair of leather work boots. The women's look fashionable and decent under brown or tan slacks. They would provide a lot of support. Or TOMS if your workplace would allow them. Try 6pm.com for ideas and brands.

  • My mom and husband like Clarks shoes. Clarks Bostonian is the full brand name I think.
  • The shoes that are the most comfortable:

The ones with the chunky kind of Seventies heel --- the sole of the shoe more or less mimics the foot.

These shoes are still pretty popular -- all of the riding boots you see now have those kind of heels on them; the heels are varying heights.

What about a pump that has a kitten heel on it? That should be okay for your feet?
  • What about a 90s style combat boot?  It's about time for the nouveau 80s fashion to die and the 90s to come back, right?

  • There are also Easy Spirits galore.

And look for any kind of a low heel riding boot or a ballet flat.

Any kind of shoe goes now. Doesn't matter what look or what heel; a flat loafer or a cute maryjane is always in style.
  • Well, I'm in court a lot, so combat style anything would be an issue...plus I'd have to likely take them off repeatedly at the security posts....kitten heals aren't stable enough for me....I'm contstantly walking on a balance beam in the world.  I'll check out Clarks.
  • I'd try TOMS, they have a lot of cute flats.
  • If you are in court, ask a female officer when you see one.
