Re: FRIDAY CONFESSIONS

  • I am really over all of the nostalgia lists that people post on Facebook. The first few I was like "oh this is fun" but by the time we got to lists like "10 drinks from your childhood" and "7 toys you had totally forgotten about!" I was done.

Ditto.  I can't be bothered with these lists anymore.

  • I'm starting to learn sometimes you need to treat your co-workers like children, can't hand hold them other wise they'll never learn to figure it out for themselves. Can't find something on a web site? Look around for awhile and then, it after trying for quite some time-call someone for help.

Whether or not you find your own way, you're bound to find some way. If you happen to find my way, please return it, as it was lost years ago. I imagine by now it's quite rusty.”

And where are all these personality tests coming from? I think they're fun, but I have friends that have done 10, 12, 15 different tests!!
  • I have nothing to confess. It makes me sad.

I'm 99.9% sure a coworker blocked me on FB.  My confession is that I'm kinda offended.

All I did was send a friend request.  I don't know what I did to make them so angry that would warrant a blocking.  Just choose ignore if you don't want to be FB friends.  They are friends with other coworkers so now I'm paranoid & mad at myself for being offended & paranoid.

I keep people in Friend Request Purgatory so that I don't offend them.  There's about 24 people in purgatory right now.

  • I've been late for work every single day this week, and this week, I don't even care.

Also, I haven't had my eyebrows done since just before Christmas, and now I look like I have wooly caterpillars on my face.  Its time.

Be careful with that @MrsJenE I discovered once when I sent a friend request to someone that even though she didn't respond I could still see all her updates. This was a couple years ago though so things may have changed since then.

  • Just checking :). This person apparently didn't. I couldn't see anything before the request but I could see most stuff after.

  • I never send friend requests for this very reason. I'm always afraid of ending up in friend request purgatory.

I've done that too, while thinking about whether i wanted to accept it.  But if I don't want to accept it, I eventually click 'no' or 'ignore' or whatever it is.  I don't block them.
  • My FIL has been in the ICU for about a week now and it's been so stressful and worrisome.  To top it all off, work has been requiring a lot of OT and more dedication too.  My confession is that I'm so absolutely exhausted that I'm thinking about just disappearing this weekend so I can unwind a bit.  It's hard to be "on" all the time but I know I need to be there for my ILs.  In addition, they said the recovery, if it happens, could be weeks or months.  My birthday is a week from Saturday and I'm hoping he can recover enough so I can at least celebrate my birthday and then end of next month we're supposed to go to Vegas.  I feel terrible even thinking about that when he's at the stage he is but I'm too exhausted to even fight those feelings at this point.

Lots of hugs to you! (And early birthday cake!)

Agreed.  I haven't friended a lot of you for that very reason.  I mean we talk and all, but don't "know" each other.  However, when I get a friend request from a nestie I usually feel nothing but love!

  • One of my co-workers, constantly talks over me or interrupts me when I'm speaking to someone else.  He did this morning when I was talking to one of our sales guys about something and he basically talked over the both of us and said the exact same thing I had already said.  I cut him off and said "I know I just said that." I was a complete bitch but I'm over being disrespected and maybe I'm over reacting but it comes off in this you're a woman I'm a man I know more than you way.

Thanks!  He has pneumonia and other complications they can't pinpoint just yet.  He has MS, epilepsy, and congenital heart defects which severely affect the pneumonia on top of being a very heavy smoker.  It's such a roller coaster because one day he's starting to recover very nicely and within a couple hours, we're right back at the beginning again.

  • Not that long ago  you could choose how the number of updates you could see on your wall from your friends on an individual basis, but now it's either all or none, and I hate that.  Some people post a lot of crap but I want to see the "important" stuff every once in a while.  Now I have to decide if their posts are frequent and annoying enough to permanently hide them or if I can tolerate it.  Irritating.

  • @ThisModernLove I'm sorry to hear about your FIL. I had a similar situation that happened with my mom about a year ago. If you want someone who's kind of been there to talk to (family can be hard sometimes), I'm here.

This happens to women in our office a lot. I just started calling people out on it. That stuff gets old real quick. You're not being a bitch, IMO. He was being an asshole!

You're superwoman to me. The fact that you can wake up at 4am from a warm and cozy bed on a freezing day to go to the gym deserves a medal.  ::bows down to Booney::

My other coworker that shares our office, sent me a message on skype about how awesome it was that I shut him down.  I'm in the mood not to put up with it anymore.
