Weekend Activities with a Toddler

Since I've been in school the past three weekends, the hubs and the Bubs have been cooped up inside together.  I've got this weekend off and we were thinking about taking Hunter some place fun.  The Please Touch Museum is very high on the list, but I wanted to get some other ideas too.

We are in Norristown/Plymouth Meeting area and have no problem driving to Bucks, Chester, Delco or other places in Montgomery Co.

Thanks!

Re: Weekend Activities with a Toddler

  • I know it's a bit of a hike, but I'm going to throw it out there anyway: Washington, DC

J & I just went there over the weekend, very spur of the moment.  We hit up several of the Smithstonian museums, and they were all great. The fact that they were free was an added bonus.

We grabbed a room on Hotwire that morning, and paid less than a $100 for a 4 star hotel in the Capitol area.

  • I have always wanted to go to Washington D.C and see the sights!  I am ashamed I've lived so close my whole life and have never been.  Maybe my birthday this year.

In the meantime, I am looking for more toddler-friendly ideas.  I can't imagine Hunter would be too interested ;)

  • Peddler's Village/Giggleberry Fair!  That's our go to joint.  We had the kid's 2nd birthday party there.  He LOVES it.

  • When you finally get down there @OnceInLoveWithAmy be sure to check out the Aviation/Space museum as I'm sure little kids, boys especially, would love seeing all of the full scale planes up close & personal.  The primary Smithstonian was also kid friendly, with a little kids discovery room and a great dinosaur display.

As for something local - is he ready to go to the movies yet?
