Help me with my bedroom...

edited January 2014 in Decorating & Renovating
I would like some help here. I have this bedding, and this bed. Very small room, light hardwood floors. What color may look good on the walls, and a rug ? I cannot seem to make my room look nice. :( Help. TIA

Re: Help me with my bedroom...

  • What kind of style would you like? Your furniture seems to be rustic and cabin-like, but the slight floral pattern on the bed is a little bit feminine and dainty. If the bedding is actually a periwinkle color, leading more towards purple, what about tying it in with a rich green or gold, or even a darker purple with mint green.  The rich green and gold will be a little more rustic, whereas a darker purple or mint color would be more feminine.
  • You're right, they actually look good together. I like a blend, I'm weird. Lol. Love the rustic aged look, along with beachy feel. I have little black iron here and there. I just don't know like colors for walls, rugs, I'm stuck there... So, a rich green wouldn't look too odd? I can decorate the rest of my house BUT this! ahhhhh!

Here - I made a color palette for you so you can see the colors together. I actually really like the grouping! The jewel tones are really pretty together and I think having the darker colors in the room with accessories will help make the lighter colors stick out. The middle color isn't a pure white, it's more of a silvery white, which you could either lighten or darken a little more.  I think a rug in the dark purple or the green would look perfect, and some gold accessories against the wrought iron would look really nice too.

  • Thanks for the pallet. Awesome help! :) You ROCK!
