Re: Blankets in a crib

  • We did right around a year.
  • I'm with Jess, I think about a year or so. We started with just a small baby blanket, and just this past fall put in a full blanket that covers the entire mattress

  • We also added one around a year. It wasnt so much the age that made me feel comfortable, but rather her ability to pull things off her face etc and that happened right around a year old.

  • Sounds good, thanks. They both play peek-a-boo with themselves and their blankets but I'm obviously there to watch it. We've made it this far without them through the winter but maybe once summer comes and they have a window unit going, I'll add in a blanket.

  • We added a blanket to DD's crib within the last few months, but it always ends up underneath her or rolled up in a ball to use as a pillow.  She's getting better at keeping it on, but she rolls around so much that it really doesn't serve its purpose as a cover.

  • We used sleepsacks until 2 yrs...only because we had a couple "grobags" that we got as gifts. Our house is really cold, too. I think they'd be fine at a year or so, esp if you used something light and breathable.

  • We still don't have one. Ds doesn't stay still anyway so I'm not sure it would do any good. We just recently let him start taking elmo to bed. Before that he had nothing in his crib and was fine with it.

  • Mine are all over the crib. Every time I look at the monitor, they're in a new spot so I'm not sure how much a blanket will stay on either. I was also wondering about toys though. C loves his taggie and A loves his "lovey" (no clue if that's what they're called, but its what we call it).

  • She's been sleeping with blankets since she was able to roll over, so like 3-4 months.
