we are having out of town guests visit us and i am going to host one evening. I'm trying to plan a 'pittsburgh menu' for dinner. what are some options???
some ideas i've had so far:
-food on mancini's bread (meatballs hoagies?) or order hoagies from Triangle Bar
-fried fish from Wholey's (not sure how that will be re-heated though...)
-Pgh steak or chicken salad (fries on top)
-local beers
-local dessert (Prantils and or Jean Marcs)
any other ideas?
Re: Pittsburgh food menu?
You can't go wrong with the ideas already listed so I'm just trying to think of things not mentioned yet.
Smiley cookies
You could get a pierogi pizza from a local pizza shop. I know Michaels in the South Side and Aiello's both do them.
Penn Brewery Nut Roll is out right now and it is so good. Especially served with a brown sugar and cinnamon rim.
Thanks for all the great ideas!!!!
I would get the lobster soup at Wholey's, versus the fish sandwiches - they would be hard to reheat. Lobster rolls from Roland's are very good, too.
Yummm!!
