WIJFR: The Book of Lost Things (NS)

This is my post for the Read a twist on a fairy tale/ myth. Post a review on NBC. category.

I liked this book, but it was definitely very out there.  It remade several fairy tales in the most gruesome and disturbing ways possible.  I think that the Little Red Riding version is what freaked me out the most.  I did love that @booneybear  reviewed it on goodreads saying that maybe it should have been read while high.

Overall, I gave it three stars.

  • I was very intrigued by the description of this one but started it and couldn't get into it.

  • It was one that I thought was okay while reading. Weird, and promptly forgotten.

  • I thought this book was super weird. Very dark, which was expected, but it was just not my favorite. It was one of the few books I sold to a half price books store since I just knew I would never read it again.

  • I'll go against the grain here and say that I LOVED this book. It was twisted, but I found it so darkly funny.
