    IMHO, fun money should be the same for both of you. His bonus should be joint income and he should use fun money to pay for his trip. As to your discretionary spending, it's your money and your life, so use your money as you see fit. If you are funding all of your retirement accounts and have no debt and you are okay with spending that money and not profiting off it then that's fine. Do what you want. Anyway, there's something to be said for using your money now to enjoy your life more. I know people who saved a lot for retirement and did everything right, and guess what, one of them ended up dying or getting sick and they would have been better off doing what you are doing now. I don't know your financial picture, so I don't know if you can afford your lifestyle or not, but assuming you can, then it's fine.
