Bathroom Remodel - New to DIY home projects

Hi Everyone! We are seriously planning to remodel our guest bathroom which is located on the main level of our home. I am looking for information on vanity/sink options and wall options (i.e. bead board, etc) and how it will effect the value of our home. We are looking to make decisions that will make us happy and add to the value of our home. I'd appreciate any helpful information. Thanks for all of your help in advance!

Updating your tub/shower, sink, and toilet will all get you a return on your investment. Bathrooms and kitchens are the best for resale.  In terms of your bathroom remodel, I wouldn't spend too much money on aesthetics, like beadboard for the walls. In fact, I think that beadboard is kind of dated, but there are other board-and-batten moulding types that could help update the space.  Add electrical outlets and an exhaust fan if there isn't one already, and make sure that the plumbing is up to code when doing the renovation.  Ample storage is also another big deal, so make sure the vanity has cabinets and drawers, and if you have the space, put two sinks in the bathroom, especially if this bathroom will serve more than one bedroom.
