Our district closed today and so far...no snow. There's gonna be some pissed off parents. Although, like someone commented on Appo's fb page....the parents that complain will be the same parents that complained about the 1/2 day. That it wasn't safe for the kids to be driving home.in the snow.

I agree that it will be the same parents complaining. These decisions aren't made easily and a lot of time goes into it. My mom was on the phone via text and calls throughout the game last night with her director of transportation and superintendent of her district discussing the forecast and what to do...hopefully parents realize that every decision they make has the kids safety in mind, even though it's probably beyond frustrating to keep finding Childcare.

Parents will never, ever, be happy with the decision unless we have like 3 feet of snow and schools are closed. It's always the same weirdo parents complaining on the Appo facebook page too.

The one guy that comments is one that is cranky b/c he ran for.school.board and lost.

We have a TON of snow....it was 8" an hour or so ago....yuck.

well its snowing here and still coming down. I was just out driving and I wouldn't want my kid on a school bus on these roads.

Middletown was rain all morning, snowed for 30min, changed to sleet and now rain. I don't know what's going to happen later.

@queensteph17 she's the director of operations. She was a special ed teacher when I was younger, then a principal for awhile, then she was moved to district office awhile back.

I think I'm more upset they didn't delay this morning. Some of the side streets I had to take are sheets of ice. But Brandywine posted on their Facebook page that they were opening on time today & asked us to be careful/patient with the buses if they were late because of the weather.
