Toilet overflowed and.....

My husband let the toilet bowl overflow while on his way to bed, lulled down the towels and let them soak it up then came upstairs. When I asked him what happened, he told me, then proceeded to be all upset that I'd expect him to actually clean up the mess he made before bed. This morning he puttered around the house getting dressed, and then was shocked when I asked him "what are you going to do about the floor?" His response? "I put the towels in the wash! I am not going to make time to actually clean anything before work!" ****he works at a 2 person small business, no time clock, totally flexible scheduling, etc. women who think th are "showing love for their families and pride in their homes" by being the perfect homemaker and housekeeper, letting their sons and darters play to their hearts content, they grow up into the MIL I have, delightful and I love her, but her son is an incompetent housekeeper, has no idea how or what it takes to keep a straight house. I'd be happy with straightened, not even that clean. But nothing! Grrrrr.

Re: Toilet overflowed and.....

  • Is he kidding???

That water could have ruined the floor, if there isn't anything there but vinyl tile or linoelum --- plus this is a MESS!

He needed to wipe up the entire mess and make sure nothing was wet.

This guy needs a serious talking to.  I wold do it if I were you.

Her son is an incompetent housekeeper, I will bet, because his mother did it all for him. Am I right? (and if that is so, what did ya expect?)
  • I dont care how much his mother did for him, he is a grown ass man and figure out what to do.
im sure this isnt the first time he has left a mess.

  • Ooh how annoying. I would have been pissed, and ya he should clean it up. He made the mess, he can clean it up, just as you would have. My H will do something like that when it comes to the dishes, but over flowing the toilet, that's just nasty. Who cares about what his Mom DID, what it is now is, he is a grown man and he can clean up after himself. Ewwww
