Deep Creek?

My BFF and I are trying to find somewhere to go for a girls weekend....she lives in northern VA, so finding somewhere kind of in the middle would be great.  Has anyone gone to Deep Creek?  I know Wisp is there, but we have zero desire to do any actual physical activity, unless you count mani-pedis :)  we are looking more for a relaxing place to stay, maybe get our nails done, go to dinner, and just relax.

we're open to any other suggestions as far as locations, too!!

Re: Deep Creek?

  • I've been there and it's nice.  Perfect place to chill and relax because there really isn't a whole lot there.  (besides outdoor activities).  We stayed at a bed and breakfast that used to be a monastery.   We enjoyed it.

Also, what about Berkeley Springs, WV?  I've always wanted to do a girls trip there.  My old boss used to go every year and she loved it.

  • It's a little closer for you than her, but you could do a weekend at 7 springs and schedule time at the spa :)

  • We drive through Berkeley Springs on the way to the OBX. Such a cute little town. DH curses it though because it never fails the weekends we drive through is either a parade or some traffic jam. Ha.
  • I've stayed at the Caramel Cove Inn too like Amber.  It's nice. Though as much as I like Deep Creek, I think there's more to see / do in summer than winter. The town always seems kind of dead to me when I've gone in winter or fall.  THeir web site may list spas, and if there is one, that would be cool. I just don't recall any. HAve fun!
  • The Omni Bedford Springs is a beautiful resort with good food and a spa. Friends and I rented a cabin in Berkeley Springs a few years ago.

In both cases the town looked cute and interesting, but I didn't explore much.
