edited June 2015 in Getting Pregnant
Came home to this lovely package today.

I went in for monitoring this morning. Call back this afternoon said I have one "kind of" measurable follicle, which is more than clomid has ever given me before. They are hoping Sunday to see more. I start bravelle tonight.

Any tips or suggestions? I'm not really worried or nervous, but I may be when the time comes tonight.

  • GL!

Bravelle is super easy. The needle is very small. Have you watched any videos on mixing/drawing up/injecting?

  • No suggestions. But wanted to say good luck!!

So.. I've never given myself a shot, but stick people with needles all day. I always get compliments on my technique. My advice is to just go fast. If you hesitate/ go slow it'll take longer to get past the thin layer of nerves.
  • No advice here, but GL!

  • GL!  I had H do my injections because I can't look at needles.  They freak me out.

I would say to go fast and make sure your skin is dry after cleaning with alcohol.  It stung a little more a couple times when it was still wet.

In order for alcohol to be effective as a disinfectant it must be wet when sticking. Yes it burns, but if it's dry it's not doing it's job.
  • No additional advice to offer, but YOU CAN DO THIS! FX that this cycle works!

I'm sorry, but I don't think that's correct.  My doctor advised waiting a few minutes for the alcohol to evaporate before injecting so the germs were killed off. And correct me if im wrong, but I believe alcohol continues to kill germs as it seeps into the skin, which would also be a reason to wait.

My office always waits until its dry before drawing blood as well.  If it's not dry, they usually swab it with cotton to get rid of the excess.  It still stings, but not as much as when it's actually wet.
