Hashimoto's disease

Hey everyone! Anyone on here have Hashi's ? I was recently diagnosed and am struggling, the disease has taken such a toll on me. Just looking for some thyroid disease buddies who share in the struggle :)

Re: Hashimoto's disease

  • I have had hypothyroid for the past 10 years, but was diagnosed with Hashimoto's about 4 years ago. My biggest issue has been fluctuating TSH levels. If you don't already have one, get an endocrinologist to help you manage.
  • I have Hashimoto's. I was diagnosed with it almost 10 years ago. Getting onto medication and the right dose (which can take time) make a world of difference in my life. Once I found the right dose with my doctor's help, a few weeks later my dad said "it's nice to have you back." I had been suffering from extreme fatigue, my short term memory was shot and I was depressed. Things have been going well up until recently, it's looking like the medication is not working as well, or at all anymore and my thryoid is swollen more then usual. I have an appointment with my specialist in a few weeks to follow up with him. Find a specialist who will listen to you and work with you and before long, you will be enjoying life again....promise
  • I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Disease 21 years ago (at the ripe old age of 12). So i've been on syntrhoid for more than half of my life. Getting the dosage right makes a HUGE difference. I am unable to take the generic meds too, it has to be brand name Synthroid or i'm a mess. Make sure you find yourself a good Endocronologist. It makes all the difference in the world. I've also found that a consistent diet and exercise program helps me even when i'm utterly exhausted (i have two small children and work full-time). Happy to help in any way i can!
