Restaurant Rec

Hi all,

I'm looking for a place either in the city or just outside that will hold 17 people for a dinner on a Saturday at 5pm. Preferably an Italian BYO that takes reservations. Our original plan was for Solento near Rittenhouse but it appears that has closed down. Now looking for something similar.

Thanks in advance!!

Re: Restaurant Rec

  • After further discussion - it doesn't HAVE to be a BYOB. We aren't big drinkers anyway. Was just thinking that would be cheaper though.

  • I had my 30th birthday party at Georgio on Pine. It's BYOB and the food was excellent (awesome gnocchi). He did a four course pre-selected menu for about 25 people, and they have a smaller room upstairs that that size group could fit in nicely. It was very reasonably priced for Center City.

Tre Scalini or Paradiso on Passyunk Avenue might also work. The first one is BYOB all the time, the second on Sundays only. I've only gone to both for dinner and not for parties, but I'm pretty sure they could accommodate a larger group. Tre Scalini is mid-range in terms of price point, and Paradiso is a bit on the higher side.

Spasso Italian Grill is also good. We did my bachelorette party dinner there and I've been back for dinner a few times since. Not BYOB, but very reasonably priced.
  • Pesto right off of Passyunk Avenue on Broad Street.  Also, Criniti's, Scannichio's and L'Angolo as you get closer to Oregon Avenue on Broad.
