Romance fans...

Have any of you read the Kowalski series by Shannon Stacey? I just finished the most recent two this weekend and am in love with this family! If you haven't read them, I highly recommend you check the series out!

I saw you raving about these.  I'm torn...sometimes I can't handle cheesy romance.

ETA:  I'm not saying these are cheesy.  It's more like sometimes the lovey dovey is too much for me.  I have to be in the right mood.

I think so! Both series are funny and hot, but have good plots, too!

  • Yay! More books to add to the (never-ending-always-growing-but-makes-me-happy) list.
I write sexy books. I read all the books. I love dresses & macarons.

  • I've heard good things about this series, but I haven't had time to dive in. I'll add them to my mental list.

Have you guys read Rachel Gibson? She's an auto buy for me. I especially like her earlier books, in particular, Truly Madly Yours.

This makes me happy. I bought this at a book sale about a month ago but haven't had a chance to read it yet. Moving it up on the list!

I love the setup between the hero/heroine in this story. He's the ignored illegitimate son of the town mayor and she's the mayor's adopted daughter who received all the attention and material goods that the hero was deprived of. But despite that sounding really depressing, it's light and sweet and funny. It might be my favorite contemporary romance.

  • It's got a lot of those same small town elements, but less rural/country, if that makes sense.

  • That does make sense. I can't wait to read it!

  • I love these books too. I've read the first two so far and I adore Shannon Stacey's writing. The heroine in the second book drove me crazy though. I thought Kevin should find someone who was actually interesting and interested in him and ditch Beth.

  • I started reading these when I saw them on your GR feed on your FB page, Jennie, and I am so glad I did! Have you read Kristan Higgins? She is another author I LOVE, although she doesn't really write series. I also read a ton of books by Susan Mallery last year, and I love her stuff as well!

Beth was a little...ummm...bland or boring, IMO. And kind of whiny!

  • @taylormillgirl I'm on day three of being snowed in and started reading Truly Madly Yours this morning. I'm about a hundred pages in and enjoying it a lot so far!
    image
  • I finished it! I loved it. It was just the right amount of both light/sweet and steamy. Loved the characters too and it looks like Rachel Gibson has another book set in the same town, Tangled Up in You. Is it good too? What other books by her are good?

I've read everything she's written (except the novella...something with Blue in the title), and out of all those books, there was only one that I didn't connect with: Lola Carlisle. There are some books I like more than others, but I've never finished a RG book and said "Man, that was a waste of seven bucks." Even if the story isn't my favorite, she's so witty that I enjoy it by default.
