Recommend your dishwasher!

Lowes is having an appliance sale.  We have an old one that came with the house when we bought it.  It is starting to not get things cleaned anymore.  I did try cleaning it out.  I would like to stick under $500 ish.

Re: Recommend your dishwasher!

  • The home we own now has a Bosch. It does a really good job.
  • Yep! LOVE Bosch dishwashers.  It's really quiet and has some nice features like adjustable racks.  The only downside is ours doesn't dry quickly (we usually have to run it at night, let it dry overnight, and empty in the morning.  Minor inconvenience considering this dishwasher is miles ahead of any other one i've used =)

I wish we looked into Bosch!  We got an LG.  I hate it.  The vent is at the bottom and would drip water on our hardwood floor.  We had to get a tech to come out and fix it.  It was covered, but still annoying.  Plates get knocked over easily between the tines when loading the dishwasher.....it's a delicate balancing act.
  • I've owned several different brands of dishwashers over the years, at all price points, including GE, Fisher & Paykel (dish drawers) and Miele (which is what I have currently). The Miele is, by far, the best of the bunch. It does everything it claims to do, and hasn't needed to be serviced even ONCE since we bought it five or so years ago. In terms of purchase price, which is in the $1,000+ category, it's one of the most expensive dishwashers on the market. But in terms of what it costs to OWN it (repairs, parts, service calls, etc.), there's no comparison.
