artwork for kitchen walls?

Our kitchen walls look so bare since they have nothing on them except paint.  What does everyone hang on their walls?  Links/pictures would be great!

Re: artwork for kitchen walls?

  • I have 3 coordinating frames in my kitchen.  Two large, matching frames that are side by side, and they each have colorful, lightly patterned scrapbook paper behind the glass.  On one I write (with dry erase markers) the weekly to do list, and on the other, the weekly menu.  Above the matching frames, I have a smaller frame with a picture of a rolling pin that says "roll with it."

I like functional decorations, and the two lists help me stay organized.  Plus, if I ever want to change out my color scheme, I just have to change out the scrapbook paper behind the glass.  They're also easy to clean if we ever have a messy cooking disaster.
  • Family pictures {photo collages}, vinyl wall quotes, and any artwork that I like.

  • I went with a french theme in my kitchen.
  • I love prints of kitchen appliances, utensils, etc. there are a ton on etsy.com.

  • It depends. Do you have a specific color/theme you'd like to stick by or just open? I have a blue and white kitchen with light houses, anchors, weathered white frames etc. Looks good for me. I love wine decorations but it doesn't go well with the colors we are working with so I stuck with the beachy feel of things.

  •  I have some open shelving where I store vintage pyrex and our everyday glasses and dishes which are also vintage. What little wall space I have is next to this shelving. I got two signs from http://www.retroplanet.com/.

  • I can't take pictures of mine right now, (we are repainting the wall). I got tons of cute wall signs from Hobby Lobby. We have a 50's themed kitchen, so I have all of these metal signs, and I ordered a decal that says "Sugarplums Diner" on it.

Hobby Lobby has a very wide variety of signs and decals even if you don't have a theme.

  • The kitchen is really small & there isn't room for much more than the wine rack on that wall. We are big into wine so the wine rack is appropriate for us. The other walls have signs, cupboards, a window & appliances take up the rest of the wall space.

I would look into the different types of wall art available on Shutterfly. I've decorated multiple rooms in my house with customizable wall art to get more of a personal feel instead of decorating with something that anyone could have.
  • I have one of the walls with patterns made from ceramic walls and some antique spoons showcased on another. The ceramic plates are of different shapes and colors and are arranged in a zig-zag pattern. The spoons are kind of a vintage type and have some classiness in them. I've arranged in the wall, that also in different patterns, and made a fake frame around these spoons.
I got these stuffs from Jiffy Storage, Toronto. You won't believe, you will get old but rare stuffs there which can be used to decorate or showcase in your home. I've found old floral cases, which I use as beauty kits. I'll try attaching the pics.
  • you can hang your pot, fork and other kitchen items on the wall, this can save your much space as well as decorate your kitchen.
  • Vintage Wood signs are really unique...there are some custom ideas not shown here but gives you idea of some existing . You can even have your family name made on them...
Also some other unique artwork view here

Also we love having a Framed Chalkboard in our space, great for writing family notes: quotes, inspirations, etc....
