Got full-time at Disney!!

So I am currently working part time at 2 jobs. Today I got a call from Disney casting and they offered me full time of course I accepted! So I start full time at the end of march. So I get to quit my job at petco! So when should I tell petco about putting in a notice.....

  • If you know now, i'd tell them now. Give them a definite end date, and there you go. I think more notice is better than less...

  • So exciting! What I wouldn't give to work and live near Disney. I agree tell Petco now and give them an exact date which I would make a few days before you start at Disney to give yourself time for a "break".

This! If I was able to take time off before a new position, I would! Who doesn't need a break!

  • Congrats! Will you still be doing the same thing you're doing at Disney now?

  • Congrats! As far as petco....if you are only part time are they required to give you a certain number of hours or can they cut your hours back at will? If its the latter I would wait and give them the standard 2 weeks notice so they don't "punish you" by cutting your hours (thus pay) early. If they give you a set schedule with guaranteed hours then I would tell them ASAP just to be polite to give them time to fill your position

    Congrats!!

I agree with @toothpastechica. If you tell them too soon they'll probably cut your hours. I would give them at least 2 weeks, and if you can afford to, allow yourself a couple days off between.

Well right now I only work 3 days a week. I got the job at Disney because they already where cutting my hrs. So ever since Disney they have been having me work 3 days a week...
