WBC Twist on Fairy Tale: Cinder by Marissa Meyer (NS)

I was a little hesitant to read a book where I had an idea on how the plot would play our.  Meyer was able to build a really interesting world where Cinderella is named Cinder and is a cyborg.  I didn't realize it was a series so I was a little surprised at the ending.  Overall it was a really enjoyable read and not nearly as a predictable as I though it would be. I gave it 3.5 stars.

  • I really want to read this series. Last year I downloaded a free short story on Amazon (a prequel to Cinder), and I was so impressed with the writing and the world-building.

    I wrote this!
  • I just finished Cress (the third in this series) and I think that the second and third books are even better than Cinder.  With Cinder, I felt like I was figuring out the world and trying to make the fairytale fit the whole time I was reading it.  By the second book (Scarlet), it's just all action-packed.  By the third book, you get to hang out with all your favorite characters, and meet a new one, while everyone tries to save the world.  I can't wait for the fourth and final book of the series!  (But I guess I'll have to since there is no release date announced yet.)
  • I'm about to read Cress for this category!

  • I really liked this book.  I am really excited to get the other books. I thought it was a neat spin on the Cinderella story without being predictable. I didn't know that it was a series when I got it either so I agree that  the ending did come as a bit of a surprise.

  • I've put the next book on hold at the library.  I'm happy to see the series gets better not worse (unlike some others that I've read lately).

@Raeily I'm excited to see what happens too!
