random question

my jaw has been really bothering me lately. could this be pregnancy related? I know that all your ligaments and joints loosen during pregnancy?

on the flip side I have been eating more so maybe all the chewing is causing a sore jaw....but this seems silly

Re: random question

  • Yep, it's the ligaments loosening. Some women get pregnancy induced TMJ even. I already had it and it's definitely been worse.

    ugh this sucks!
  • It really does! And I find I grind my teeth or hold my jaw tight when I'm stressed or thinking anyway, so that happens a lot given the decisions/changes that go along with having a baby... Yikes! I have a sock filled with rice I heat up and put on my jaw when it gets too painful, highly recommended. And no gum... And a soft diet for two days helps if it gets out of control. I'm sorry you have to deal with this :(
