Domperidone anyone?

My already low supply has gotten even lower and I'm debating trying domperidone to help increase supply. Anyone on here ever try it? Success? Not worth it? What dosing did you take? Kind of a long shot but I'm reading conflicting things about it. Thanks!

Re: Domperidone anyone?

  • I don't know what that is, but have you already been trying other things? What?

  • I tried everything on kelly mom.

I take domperidone, 30 three times a day. It has allowed us to continue BF. I started it at 4 months PP.

  • I'm pumping 8-12 times per day. I still put her to breast but she gets frustrated after a couple minutes. I've made cookies, I eat oatmeal every morning, I sprinkle brewers yeast on my food, I drink Gatorade and water, I tried the tea (gross), I take fenugreek 4 times per day. In all my pumping I get about 2-3 oz pumped, the rest is supplemented. Ive been working with a LC and she said shes read good things about it and she wishes she could get it for me. I may give this a shot. @cinderin - how long before you noticed an increase?

  • Try flax seed and coconut oil (I add both to my morning oatmeal).  Are you eating enough calories?  I think I heard barley can help, too.  I'd go ahead and give the meds a shot.

  • I noticed within a day or two.

2-3 oz per pump or all day?

  • 2-3 ounces is what I get all day... I wish it was per pump. I'll give it a whirl! No one can tell me I didn't try to make breast feeding work!

  • @madeline10L I ordered them yesterday... They take 2 weeks to get here. I also made an appointment with an acupuncture lady (who I used when going through fertility treatments) so hopefully between these two things it'll work. If not.., I'm throwing in the towel.

  • Was on it with both boys. Helped enormously. Never had enough to have them totally on the breast but it is effective!
