Teething/molars

Does anybody know if it is possible for a kiddo to teethe the same teeth twice? Like it seems like her molars that were already in are trying to come out more. Her gums are all puffy and red around each molar and she says her mouth hurts. Orajel helped her with saying her mouth hurts but now she has a low grade fever as well. She is super cuddly and wants lots of kisses. It seems like teething to me but it seems weird that teeth that are already in would be causing her problems.

Re: Teething/molars

  • Could she be working on her next set of molars already?

  • I have no idea, but i'm sorry to hear her mouth hurts:(
  • @Alexisanna44 It could be possible...they have 2 year molars right? I can't feel anything back there but it is a little more difficult to feel around in her mouth now. Maybe the next set of molars coming in is irritating all the gums back there?

I hate that her mouth hurts but I like that she can tell me at least. Orajel and a half dose of Tylenol helped her get a good nap in. She woke up with her mouth hurting again though :(

  • Yes they get two year molars and that would be my guess as well.

  • I would also guess 2 year molars. I have also heard the newest recommendation is not to use Orajel as it can harden the gums and make it harder for the teeth to come in.
