Backpack recommendation for carry on

Hi!
Stopping over from TB.
Anyone have recommendations for backpacks to use as carry on for flights?

The ideal situation would be for each of us to have backpacks so we don't have to check anything. They seem a lot more convenient especially travelling with a toddler but I'm having a hard time finding some that are big so we can pack the most things possible & use the maximum 22" size requirement.
Steer me in the right direction? Or any other recommendations. I'm open for suggestions.
TIA

  • My husband packs in boat bags - duffles. We pack some items inside in ziplocks like socks, underwear, bathing suits so i can easily locate them.

How long are you traveling? What packs do you find most comfortable? Are you more interested in maximizing space, organization, or comfort?

I use a Gregory Jade 38 in Women's Small as my go-to weekend bag, because I find the Jade fits my body type quite well and I already know my size (I have the Jade 60 for trekking). I have a friend who loves the North Face Base Camp duffle for the wide opening, even though the straps aren't really designed for long distances. Another friend prefers tha Jeep wheeled backpack because he uses it mostly on smoother terrain that's more conducive to a pull-behind.

So it depends a lot on what your priorities are.
