GTKY: School

How were your grades in high school? Good student or bad student?

Re: GTKY: School

  • I was a good student. Graduated with honors and was in the top 10 of my class.

I was valedictorian of my high school class and got straight A's

My parents were strict when it came to grades so anything less than an A was not ok with them because they knew we could do better. Neither of my parents were able to go to college and my mom couldn't even finish high school (this was before my parents came to the U.S.), so education was really important to them and is something I take very seriously.

  • I was a good student and graduated with honors. My dad never finished high school (but eventually got his GED) so grades and finishing high school were super important to him.

  • I was a decent student, if I studied and cared I probably would of been a great student. I was lazy and cared more about other things then school. My parents were not super strict, as long as I passed and didn't fail.  They honestly were just happy I was alive. I think having a sick kid you worry about other things then good grades. However, I went on to get my masters and work for a university so somehow school became important to me.

  • I was a good student you could say. I mean I didn't fail but some classes I cared more about than others and it showed. I graduated fairly high in my class with several honors but we also had like 400 students so most of us graduated with something. I could have done better. My parents were strict in a way but if I made a C it wasn't the end of the world. By the time I was a senior they knew what classes I would do great in and which ones I wouldn't.
  • I did very well. Education was very important to my parents. My mom dropped out of high school but went later for her GED and they were paying for us to go to private schools most of the time.

  • I did great in high school. I got mostly A's. Education was important and I knew I had to do well to go to college. I graduated with honors and I think I graduated as #10 in my class.

  • I was valedictorian of my high school class- school has always come pretty easy for me.  I graduated magna cum laude in college, and summa cum laude from pharmacy school.  After going to school for 21 years, I can honestly say I'm happy to not be a student any longer :)
