  • @iwalktheline, I want to love your post because of Rosalie's pictures (so sweet!!), but people who let their dogs behave like that piss me off! Damnit people, just train your freaking dogs already and having little kids around dogs won't be such a huge issue!

  • @iwalktheline - My dog did this the first time he saw a baby (but I guess he was only like 6 months old at the time so that's a bit different), and for some reason he just really wanted her socks. We've worked a lot since them to teach him "gentle" and "easy" and now he lays down when he's around a baby. I was really worried how he'd be with our (still a dream at the time) LO. But I totally agree - it's so unnerving to have a dog lunge towards a baby! I'm sorry your MIL was so insistent on introducing the dog :(

  • @iwalktheline Sorry your experience with the dog wasn't a good one. I understand why you wouldn't go  back, but the more the dog sees her he/she will get used to her. Are your ILs good with training?

Little Rosie is so cute and smiley!

They are good with training, and FIL walks her at least 5 miles a day to help dispel some of her crazy energy. But I think they trust her a little too much.

She's a good dog and has never bitten any one (or another dog for that matter)... but I'm of the school of thought that no matter how well trained a dog is, they're still an animal and can be unpredictable. Not to mention that she's a very hyper, 90lb pit mix... So she can cause some damage even if she doesn't mean to. I've had several bad scrapes from her jumping on me out of excitement (she really loves me for some reason).

    ...hello out there!

  • @poppies This is the place to vent/chat/find relief.  We are totally here for you, never feel like you are posting too much or being an AW. I still think this is your time but I'm sure the anxiety is crazy high after everything you've been through. I have everything crossed for you.
