It's Spring Break Week!

In honor of it being a quiet week in Oakland, what's your favorite thing about spring?

I love spring flowers - they're so beautiful and add color when everything has been so brown and ugly for so long.  I love to watch for them to pop up in the yard.   

And also my birthday is in the spring.

I love spring flowers, though this year spring is going to mean a ton of yard work.

This year spring means a new niece or nephew, so excited for that!

I love those days where it's warm enough to open all the windows, but the house still stays a little cool. Free air conditioning, lol.

I agree with others.  I just enjoy seeing COLORS outside my window.  Also, being able to be outside.

The kids rode their bikes/scooters yesterday while I sat in the sun with my crochet project. Awesome.

Also, wearing shoes other than my boots. At the beginning of winter I LOVED them (new this year). Now I would like to put them away.

Exercising outside!  I'm dying to get on the trail with my bike and the kids in the bike trailer. 

Planting a garden--we started seeds inside this weekend, but I'd love to be able to put them in the ground. 

This year I'm excited and terrified of landscaping.  We have a blank canvas, which is exciting, but daunting all at the same time.  I think we're going to start with some perennials and go from there. 
Speaking of which--has anyone ordered plants from Burgess?  http://www.eburgess.com/

Their prices seem really good, so I was wondering about the quality.

Happy week after spring break...I was gone all week in DC last week (chaperoning 31 students around, fun!)  I'm actually glad to be back in the office   it's a nice trip, but it's exhausting. 

My favorite part about spring is the flowers and the fact that everywhere seems to come alive again...Oakland, my neighborhood...everyone finally comes out of hibernation!

Reuniting with the neighbors after winter hibernation.  Everyone just flocks to the cul-de-sac while the kids play and socialize.
