Re: Wacky Wednesday Poll

  • 1) Where did you grow up?
    Connecticut
    2) Have you always been a reader?
Read a lot when I was younger, stopped for a while in my late teens/early twenties.  Started back up when Twilight came out and haven't stopped since.
    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from?
Honestly not sure.  It was just something I started doing and it kept me entertained.  My parents used to read to me so I've always liked books.

  • 1.  My dad was in the Navy, so until 1st grade I was all over the place.  Then I grew up in northern Minnesota.

    2. I have always been a reader.  My whole family loves to read.  We would all sit in the same room and quietly read. It was just what you did.

    3.  My family - and I love to see it pass on to the next generation.  Most of my nieces and nephews love to read as well.  I usually give books as gifts.

  • 1) Where did you grow up? Suburbs of LA
    2) Have you always been a reader?  Yup, always.  My mom started teaching me to read because I didn't want to wait until kindergarten lol!  And I started reading under the covers with a flashlight at night when I was pretty young.  My parents also had to make a rule that I couldn't read at the dinner table.
    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from?  I think my mom really encouraged it because she's a reader, though I'm the only one of my siblings who is a reader.  She also used to take us to the library really frequently when we were young.

    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from? I have no idea.  My mom reads quite a bit but I don't really remember if she was back then or not.

  • 1) Where did you grow up?  NJ and FL

    2) Have you always been a reader?  I can remember learning to read when I was 4 or 5.  I know it was kindergarten at least and I started young.  I was the kid walking around with her nose in a book and running into things.  I can't tell you how many books got wet because I would read in the bathtub.

    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from?  I think from my mom and grandmother.  But as my mom got older, she stopped reading.  I really hope that doesn't happen to me.

  • 1) Where did you grow up? I grew up in Greenville, SC. I still live nearby and am hoping to move back in a few months.

    2) Have you always been a reader? Yep. I can't remember a time I didn't like reading.

    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from? My mom used to take us to the library a lot when I was a kid. I have several family members that like to read too. I think it also has to do with the fact that I was a tad socially awkward when I was younger. I liked learning and reading was an escape from being uncool lol.

  • 1) Where did you grow up?   Suburb of Cleveland, Ohio
    2) Have you always been a reader?  Definitely when I was in elementary school and middle school. Got away from it in high school and college. Then got back into it several years ago.
    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from? Probably from being shy and introverted! My mom would take me to the library and later on to the bookstore- I loved that.

  • I envy you all who have parents who love to read.  I have so little in common with my folks and I'd really love to be able to talk books with them.  Dad's not into it, and mom reads a little bit but it's usually stuff I don't like, such as Amish romances.

    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from? Both of my parents are readers, but I think my mom gets the credit for encouraging my imagination and love of reading. In my tween years I remember saving up all of my allowance until our trips to the book store and spending it on Christopher Pike books.

  • 1) Where did you grow up? -- New Orleans
    2) Have you always been a reader? -- yes
    3) Where do you think your love of reading came from? -- my parents always had a book, even when we went out to dinner, they had a book; Dad brought a book to the movies, to my brother's track meets, everywhere.  My mother's purse was always large enough to pop her book and Dad's in it.  My parents were readers and we grew up reading.  My parents' personal library was better than out local one.
