Are you an "extreme couponer"?

Re: QOTD 3/24

  • I like to save money, but I never have much luck with coupons. We stopped getting the Sunday newspaper because most of the coupons were for junk food or things that we don't buy. Sometimes I'll get lucky and the free magazine in the Wegman's organic section will have coupons for things we buy. We also buy a lot of store brands, which are less expensive in general and sometimes we'll get a Wegman's coupon book in the mail with coupons for their brand in it.

I am loving the Target Cartwheel app though...since we've started using that we've saved over $30!

  • Where I live the way that coupon rules are set up you can't extreme coupon. You can only use one coupon for one item per ourchase and only if its not on sale. Doubling doesn't exist here either. If it was possible I certainly would extreme coupon! I'm a cheapo!
  • My area is set up sort of like @chasemamabear with couponing.  They can be used but you can't get money back from them or use multiple coupons for the same item. The groceries I buy aren't really things that would ever have coupons anyway...Our newspapers don't print coupons either, so the few I do find and use are usually in store or on other food packages.

  • Nope. We don't buy much processed food and produce/meats don't really have coupons. I probably would coupon more if they were useful coupons. But extreme couponing is just too much for me.

  • No, we don't buy much of anything with coupons. I have found most of the items that I find that have coupons are really processed stuff and we try to stay away from it as much as possible. I do love using coupons for eating out and other services like oil changes/car stuff. I usually won't get those types of items done without a coupon.

  • Nope.  We use coupons that are in the store, but most of the things we buy aren't usually on sale.  We buy a lot of produce and fresh foods as opposed to boxed and canned items, but for cereals and other dry goods, we try to use coupons.  Feeding a family of 4 can get pricey, so we try to save where we can.

  • Nope.  Don't have time, and I find most coupons are for processed junk or things I just wouldn't buy anyway.

  • I used to coupon when things were tight. It was mostly for cereal, and health and beauty stuff.

I mainly used coupon.com and the weekly coupon books my mom got in the mail.

  • No, I use coupons for certain things such as OJ, cereal, coffee, paper products and toiletries/meds. But like others mentioned they are usually for processed junk and I don't buy anything like that. Every once in a while i will luck out with baby stuff. The target cartwheel app is awesome for baby stuff, that with the target debit card, i save a ton on diapers, wipes, etc.

  • Nope. Canada sucks for couponing, unless you live in huge cities where you can price match a lot of competitors

  • Nope. We don't eat a lot of stuff that food coupons are for. We do use the ones for body wash, deodorant, cleaning supplies, etc. We usually wait until they're on sale and use the coupon, but we're not extreme by any means. We also use and love the Target Cartwheel app!! We've saved $60 something bucks since November using it.

  • I've used coupons for health and beauty stuff and cleaning products but meat and fresh produce don't usually have coupons. Half the time I don't remember I even have the coupons !
  • Far from it. Although I'll admit--I took a coupon out of one of those dispenser things at the grocery store earlier. Gotta love getting my soy milk cheaper. :)
