Last year, I had some blood work done and it came back that I have insulin resistance caused by having PCOS. I was put on Metformin to lower my insulin level and it worked; went from 18 to 13 (13 is the highest in the normal range). Well, the Metformin really didn't sit well with me and I hate taking medication as it is, so I decided that I no longer wanted to take it and set a goal of reducing my insulin level through diet and exercise. I stopped taking Metformin in January and starting working out and eating healthy. I'm really happy to report that my insulin level is currently at 14 and my doctor feels that it will continue to get lower with my diet and exercise plan. I'll probably get more blood work done in a few months to see how it's changed. I'm keeping my fingers crossed I can fix this issue naturally. Just wanted to share because I was really nervous my level was still going to be high.
Re: Just have to share :)
