What is new in Philly weddings?

hey. am going to be brainstorming w some friends about their upcoming wedding - well, just the reception / party portion.   What is new or popular or unique  with respect to venue, vendors, etc? Don't make me go to theknot . ugh.  Think maybe 100 - 150 ppl, no sit down dinner and heavy hors d'oeuvres, stations likely, and need a kick assss DJ.  Don't know time of year yet - but presume spring/summer since an outdoor venue was discussed briefly.

I still love my venue; Glen Foerd. Spring/Summer was my favorite time of year when I worked there.  A low-key laid back wedding hanging by the river with good friends and good drinks.

Unfortunately, they have parted ways with Conroy Catering, Inc.  So not sure about their new caterer.

thanks Nov.  I was looking at that place. I think that they want to be in center city, tho.  I was checking out Tendenza and Vie, from the Cescaphe guys. Those places look pretty nifty

Lol at don't make me go to the knot. You still crack me up. I have no real input other than maybe check out Proud's blog? I'm not sure about numbers but maybe it can help you with regions and aesthetics. GL!

My baby sis is getting married in December at the Ballroom at the Ben and can't stop talking about it.

Both me and the mister are in a wedding this September at the Crane Arts Building, 1400 North American Street.  Outdoor ceremony space with party indoors.

erbur - i saw the IceBox space listed somewhere. And I do really  like that bldg!  pretty cool. a little hinky if tens of people are going to be looking for cabs on the way back into center city or other afterwards, but cool space.

I had a friend get married at the Camden Aquarium two summers ago.  The ballroom has two walls of shark tanks, and outside is right next to the water front.  It was gorgeous!
