Paint continuity question...
We are finally getting around to painting our house, it's been primer white for over a year now....here is my problem:
We have a backsplit. The foyer has an entrance into the kitchen and the dining room. The stairs to go up to the bedrooms is in the dining room. Do I paint all of these areas the same colour because they are all connected?

Here is a photo prior to us priming it. You can see the large opening into the kitchen, and the opening from the foyer is on the right. They had 3 walls painted red, and one wall painted brown, which lead up the stairs.

I wanted to do the foyer in a simple grey (Abalone in the picture below) because we have a very dramatic light fixture and a stained glass window on our door.
In the dining room, I wanted to do a darker grey (Harbor Grey) and extend that up to the upper landing. The rooms off of that landing are the Master, DD2's room, and a guest room.
In the kitchen I wanted to do another shade (Smoke Embers). The kitchen cabinets are white and with some glass, butcher block counter, stainless/black appliances, and yellow accents.
