  • Currently reading The Goldfinch by Donna Tartt.  It is slow going but I think I am enjoying it.

And I plan on starting Bloodroot by Amy Greene today.

These will be books 36 and 37 for the year.

  • Pride and Prejudice.  I am still towards the beginning, but I'm enjoying it.  I hope to knock out a huge chunk this weekend.

Listening- IT by Stephen King.  I am loving it.  I may switch to the book because I never have time to listen for an extended amount of time.

  • I'm listening to Voyager, which is, of course, good.  I'm reading the new Nora Roberts on my phone, and in paperback I'm reading a YA - So Much Closer.  Both are only okay.
  • I'm listening to Raven's Shadow by Patricia Briggs.  This is the first of her books that I'm not loving.  I'm bored at halfway through. #23

I'm reading Girl of Fire and Thorns and I'm flying through it.  I'll probably finish it tonight and I have book 2 ready.  I'm loving it #24

"People talk about escapism as if it's a bad thing... Once you've escaped, once you come back, the world is not the same as when you left it. You come back to it with skills, weapons, knowledge you didn't have before. Then you are better equipped to deal with your current reality."

  • I am reading The Martian and devouring it. I read 300 pages in one sitting last night. I fully intend to try to fit in the rest during work. It is SO good.

I also finished Drums of Autumn, which I liked, and the second demonica, which I also liked. I am somewhere around 50 for the year.

  • I finished The Golem and the Jinni this morning. I have a few Kindle freebies I may pick up this weekend or I have Unravel Me, but I'm not sure I'm ready to pick it up yet. I've been trying to take a break from all things Dystopian.

The Golem and the Jinni was #25 for the year.

  • I'm reading this: http://www.goodreads.com/book/show/7547769-beyond-the-shadows

It's adult sci-fi romance, and I'm loving it so far!

  • I'm listening to Doctor Sleep.  I'm about 1/2 way through now, and I'm happy to say that it has really picked up.  I'm absolutely enjoying it now.

I'm still reading The Wolf of Wall Street.  Ah, I'm so torn about this book.  I have about 100 pages left.  I have a thing for addiction stories, and that is completely what this has become.  In that way, it's entertaining and has kept me reading.  The difference is that this guy has more money that he knows what to do with, and is such an arrogant dick, I just hate him.  Even when he occasionally has moments of clarity, I still just hate him so much.  And the writing is atrocious.

These are #s 15 and 16 for the year,
  • I'm reading Alienated by Melissa Landers and so far I'm really liking it!

Also reading 100 Poems that Make Grown Men Cry.  This one is a galley and I'm not wild about it just yet.

These are #14 and #15 for the year.

  • I'm reading a book!  I haven't been reading much this year.

I'm maybe halfway through Divergent. I've been reading it at night before falling asleep. It's interesting enough that yesterday I was excited to have some waiting time and I grabbed my book to read instead of grabbing my laptop to do homework for school.

Yesterday after one of my doctor appointments I was given the instructions to "go home, relax and lay low."  I interpreted that as go home, read, and cuddle your kitties." :)

  • I just started Flipped by Wendelin Van Draanen.

Yesterday I returned a library book and realized that my entire cache of holds came in at once.  Now I need to prioritize.

  • Citadel, by Kate Mosse.  Slow but good, and I'm not usually into WWII historical fiction.

I just finished Gone Girl.  What a rollercoaster ride of insanity!

Based on a poll, I'm going to start Ten Tiny Breaths by K.A. Tucker.

Books 7 & 8... Man! Looking at everyone else's numbers, I feel like a really slow reader.

  • I haven't participated in awhile, but I'm finally getting out of my reading slump!

I'm currently listening to A Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson and reading The Last Season by Eric Blehm (about a backcountry park ranger who went missing after 28 years on the job). Only #8 & 9 for the year.
