Healthy diets for ttc

Does any one know any diet tips for ttc, vitamins health food to increase chances do or don'ts with diet. I want to get healthier as well. Thank you!

Re: Healthy diets for ttc

  • I started taking prenatal vitamins for on. This is very important and since you know that you are ttc then start now. It is better for you. Also, food wise, just go with healthy food. Eat more fruits, more vegetables. Less junk. It is pretty simple as that. And if you haven't been exercising at all, now is a great time to start. Whether it be a little walk/jog or what have you. The more healthy your body is the better chances you will get pregnant and have a healthy pregnancy and it is just flat out better for you.

  • DEF make sure you're taking pre-natals with enough Folic Acid in them! I saw a fertility dr to conceive my first (I did not have to do IVF) and she told me to try to eat as clean/organic as possible to eliminate any unnecessary hormones found in foods. She also suggested exercising regularly doing both cardio and weights. I ate a lot of sweet potatoes b/c of the "fertility" factor and took a baby asprin a day to increase circulation and a few other old wives tales. But really, pre-natal, good exercise program and clean eating will go a long way!
  • A note on pre-natal vitamins: I did a side-by-side comparison of a one-a-day women's vitamin to a pre-natal vitamin. They had almost the exact same makeup (pre-natals had slightly more iron, which you can get from your diet) but the one-a-day was half the cost for twice the vitamins. Be a savvy shopper and read labels.
  • Hey!! I saw a fertility dr to get preggo with my first and she recommended Theralogix pre-natals. They make one that you take before you're preggo, another once you are preggo and then a third to take while you're breastfeeding (if you plan on breastfeeding). I used all 3 with both of my kids :) She was also on board with the clean eating and cardio/weights exercising. Have you heard of the 21 day fix? The workouts are 30 minutes long and there are weights, cardio, yoga & pilates and the meal plan is geared around towards clean eating and portion control. I still follow it :)
  • Eat lots of veggies and fruits. Make sure that you include iron rich protein foods and low fat dairy products in your diet. Be healthy and active.

Wishing you a happy and healthy pregnancy.

I had to go through fertility treatments with my first. Vitamins do help a little. I've read great things about Femigen vitamins and some essential oils to support a healthy reproductive system.
