  • I like the name Edison but I don't think DH would ever go for it.

Not a fan of Irene. Whenever I hear the name Irene, I automatically think of that chick from the Real World that got slapped years ago. I have no idea why I remember that though, lol.

  • Not to Edison. I live too close to the town Edison in NJ that was named after Thomas Edison for it not to be weird.

No to Irene as well. While it is not a bad name, I can't help but relate it to hurricane Irene and it destroying everything in my basement!

  • Hmmm. I think Edison is kind of cute, but I'm not a fan of using traditional surnames as first names.

    Irene is a no.

    My sentiments exactly!

I don't mind Edison, but would never use it because of its association to the town in NJ. Also, that bitch, Irene, drowned my car and kept me out of my apartment for two weeks!

  • Edison is cute...it would be on a list, but I doubt DH would go for it.

I'm a no for Irene.  I don't know why, but I get a "Mean Girls" image in my head (even though the name was not in the movie).  NMS.

  • I like Edison, but wouldn't use it just b/c there are a lot of other names I like more.

No to Irene. I had a boss named Irene and while she was nice and all, I think of a 50-60 year old woman.
