Re: Monday Accountability Post

  • 1. $47 Petsmart dog grooming, $30 Dinner, $66 Lowes (grill cover, doorway mats)= $143

    2. Yes, we finally put some money into our house DP and E-fund!

    3.Talenti Gelato- Vanilla bean flavor

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? It was pretty good. I worked at my part time job, so we probably made more money than we spent. We did spend about $110 on groceries & $100 at Costco. It was time to do a big toiletry run.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Yes! My husband has been working night shifts recently - double time (first paycheck to see it), so we put in quite a bit into savings. We are about 10k-13k away from where we want to be.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? I don't know about brand, but I definitely think chocolate gelato is my favorite thing even though it's not technically ice cream.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Could have been worse, but also could have been better. Ate out twice over the weekend, should have limited it once. Started pricing things out for outdoor projects since weather is getting better. Went grocery shopping & stayed within budget for that

    2. Any progress towards goals? Next payment for one of our debts comes out tomorrow, leaving 2 payments left and the last one is 1/4 of the regular amount.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? No particular brand, but chocolate

  • 1. It was so-so. On Friday we paid $52 towards our cat getting neutered, $13 for dinner out, and about $25 for supplies to change my SO's oil. We spent $70 yesterday on supplies to set up our balcony garden. 2. We paid of one of my SO's credit cards that had about $450 left on it. We also put $120 into our savings account. 3. Hmmmm...probably anything chocolate or vanilla that isn't Turkey Hill!
  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not bad. $25 at a local diner for random midnight snacks after DH got off work. $70 for groceries, and $8 yesterday for a little snack from my favorite cafe.

    2. Any progress towards goals? We have a little money leftover from this last pay-period that we're putting towards our CC debt.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? All of it! I actually got an ice cream maker for Christmas, and I've been experimenting with it lately (so far mango has turned out to be surprisingly yummy!). As far as store bought though, my current fave is Salted Caramel from Turkey Hill. My go-to is Chocolate Therapy by Ben and Jerry's....and now I'm considering having ice cream for lunch. Is that bad?

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not very good. :( I had a friend visiting from out of town and we went out to breakfast and dinner one of the days, bought a movie, and went to a winery and inevitably bought wine. All in all it was almost $200.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Just plugging along towards owning our first condo. Hopefully closing the end of June.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor?

I usually gravitate towards breyer's because their ingredient list isn't ridiculous. My fave flavors are black raspberry or maple walnut. Yummm...I can't choose.

    1. How MM was your weekend? WAAAY out of control.  Found out on Thursday that my job is moving to California, so I exploded all over Lowes and bought a new stove and about $600 in light fixtures to start updating the house to sell.  Anyone looking for a house in the South Puget Sound area? :P  (bet you can guess where I work with the information mentioned above...)

    .

Hmm...I think I know where you work! DH and I were just talking about that move the other day actually...If you work where I think you do, DH works for a competitor but has been thinking about making a switch if he can. After he finished school he was offered a job with both companies, both of which would have involved relocating...I voted for Seattle, but he went with the other choice so we ended up on the other side of the country. I told him he better not plan on selling our house anytime soon since we just bought it, so we'll see if he actually pursues changing companies. Good luck with the move! :)
  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Spent $5 on parts for H's show car, and $12 for yard materials.  Both budgeted. :)

    2. Any progress towards goals? Put another $300 into our account to put toward debt at the end of the months.  Still waiting on my March commission check so I can get that nice chunk added too.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? Love the Cotton Candy blizzar from Dairy Queen, but they haven't carried it in years.
From the store would be Ben & Jerry's Cherry Garcia.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

Not that great. We charged a lot this weekend - bought shoes for DD, fabric for our Comic Con costumes, bought stuff to start scrap booking, DH bought movies, and I also bought our plane tickets for our trip in December. We purchased the tickets early since it will be a total of 9 going and we all wanted to be on the same flight plan together. Most will be paid off next month, with the exception of the plane tickets which we budgeted paying within 3 months. We did stay within budget on groceries, gas, and eating out on Friday (at least).

    2. Any progress towards goals?

Unfortunately nothing really MM, unless you count buying those tickets at a cheaper price that they have been.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor?

I love vanilla, anything caramel, cookies n cream, brownie bites, cookie dough, and sherbet. I don't care the brands as long as its my favorite flavor ATM.

    1. Bad, very bad. $20 to join gym by the new house. $35 in moving supplies. $35 for dinner on Saturday. $200 in baby shower gifts. (Three sorority sisters having babies around the same time). $53 in groceries for Passover. We're making dinner for 5 people. $8 for a birthday gift. (Got it to be signed...an autograph from someone H works, for a family friend). $10 donation for another group birthday gift. $23 for new checks.

    2. Just fixing up the house and cleaning for the big move in. It's going to cost some money for things that need to be fixed.

    3. I love Ben & Jerry's cookie dough. I also love Blue Moon Ice cream.

    1. How MM was your weekend? Good! Gas $35, Pizza because I was too lazy to cook last night $20, and $85 at Kohls for new pillows for the basement and living room and new flip flops. I did have a 30% off coupon and free shipping which was good.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Not MM related we finally got our garden done which was great. On the MM side, not this past week, but it wasn't pay week for me so that's expected.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? I'm undecided between Bryers Cookies and Cream and Bryers Birthday Blast... They're both so yummy!!

Ugh, I hate snow (**shudders**) - I got a decent start on my base tan this weekend.  I'm super pale, so I have to build it slowly in the spring if I don't want to get fried in the summer.  We're going to the beach at the end of May, so I'd like a good solid base by then.

    1) Mine was pretty MM: $20 on groceries for the week, $38 on a mother's day gift for MIL.  It's kind of early, but I had a PB coupon that was about to expire.  She's impossible to shop for, so I'm glad I got that out of the way.

    2) No progress this week.

    3) I love Ben & Jerry's half baked.  Holy goodness it's divine.  I can't buy it though or I'll eat the entire thing in one sitting.  I'm also a cookies n cream fan as a general go-to from any brand.  Last time I was in Nashville I tried goat cheese and cherries from Jenni's - that was pretty awesome also, even though it sounds weird.

EDIT: I DID think of something - H finally FINALLY got reimbursed for a trip he took at the beginning of March.  His law school sent him and a bunch of other students to Vegas for about 5 days.  I couldn't believe he worked that.  But yeah - we've been waiting for an $800 reimbursement for over a month.  It finally showed up in the mail on Saturday!  That's going toward his loans, since we have already absorbed the cost of the trip.

  • 1.  It was within budget for once!  We did a few fun things (a concert and beer festival) but they were paid for on previous fun budgets.  I did make a tough decision to pay $100 for a ticket to a fundraiser a good friend is organizing.  It was a tough call, but I do really believe in the cause and decided to take the plunge.  This will come out of a planned contribution to my travel savings account.

    2.  Teensy, weensy, miniscule contributions to various savings accounts, and a $15 overpayment on my student loan.  Better than nothing, right?  Our big second honeymoon-type trip is coming up soon, so we're mostly stockpiling our spending money for that right now.

    3.  I really love cookie dough ice cream.  I try to eat pretty "clean," and I realize that fake cookie dough is the most processed crud out there, but I just love it so much.  Brand doesn't really matter, but I'm partial to Ben and Jerry's as a New England girl.

ya'll suck!  We are in Missouri and it was just a dusting, but snow none the less.  DD got her boots on and made footprints on our deck :(  She kept yelling "snow". I'm wearing a sweater and jeans today.  I think the high was in the upper 30s and we are going to have a hard freeze tonight.  Just think, we were at 81 this last Saturday.

  • 1. How MM was your weekend? Not good, spent an extra $80 on groceries than expected.  Also got some fast food, $20.

    2. Any progress towards goals? Both my wife and I got raises, she got $1 an hour raise and I got a 3.5% raise.  I was also told that my paperwork is routing for my promotion.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? I like the mixed ones such as Moose Tracks, Bear Tracks, and a lot of the Ben and Jerry's flavors with chocolate and caramel.  I have to start sharing now since my son loves ice cream also.  MW is lactose intolerant so she stays away from it.

  • 1. Good - April is our "31-day Zero Spending" month where we pay bills, and needs but no wants. So far, so good!

    2. $1000 toward loan payments this pay period, $100 toward DH tuition fund, $100 toward EF

    3. Any brand mint chocolate chip :)...or chocolate with gummy bears! Ah, bringing back yummy memories!

I assume you're talking about the research center in Huntsville?  Nice place - smack in between Birmingham and Nashville.  They've got a space shuttle at their interstate exit :)

I think the big deal is off for the plant in Alabama.  Everybody kind of thinks they leveraged the state offer to deal with the unions in WA.  We really don't have unions down here - hence the reason car companies, plane companies, etc. keep moving plants down here.

Anyway, I would move.  It's sunny, warm, CHEAP to live here.  All of these are good things.

    1. How MM was your weekend?

This was a spending weekend for us :( we installed raised garden beds, lumber was purchased last weekend, but that didn't stop us from spending another $230 at Home Depot (some plants, mulch, a couple more pine 2x6's 'cause I did math wrong, another shovel, potting soil, a hanging pot...i got a little carried away because of the nice weather). $75 at the grocery store for beer and pizza to feed our friends who helped dig-up 500+ sqft of sod. and then another $80 for food for us for the week. I also dropped $462 on 14 yards of garden soil on monday. the only thing I have left to buy for that project are some tomato plants and pepper plants, but I shouldn't buy those for another 6 weeks or so. hopefully we get lots of yummy veggies from the garden over the next few years to make up the ~$1000 we put into it this year.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

YES! H accepted a job offer as a teller at one of the local banks! *sigh of releif* I had figured out how to "get by" and meet our goals of finishing this garden project and putting a roof on the house this summer, but the fact that H now has full-time work makes that easier and is going to let us focus more on those SLs.

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor?

    Ben and Jerry's-Phish Phood

also, it snowed here last night...so sick of it :(

  • 1. How MM was your weekend?

It was pretty good- groceries ($145), clothes for the girls ($30). Yesterday was not great- DH's care needed $1,060 worth of work. But it's done and hopefully that'll be it for a little while. I also booked a Father's Day brunch for my parents, DH's parents, and the 4 of us ($272). It's at the same place we got married (at a fruit orchard, reception was in a big barn) so it'll be fun to go back and enjoy the (hopefully) nice weather.

    2. Any progress towards goals?

We have a list of small home improvements to get done this summer. Everything else is done!

    3. What is your favorite ice cream Brand and flavor? Brand really doesn't matter too much- Perry's, Ben and Jerry's, or even our grocery store brand is good. I love coffee ice cream or anything with lots of chocolate.
