Where to start?

We have been married a month now, together for longer, obviously. I have an almost 6 year old from before I met him. We are at the point on wanting and being ready for a baby. We aren't at the point of charting and such yet, and I know nothing about how to do that. Should I start doing that now, or wait a few months and see if we get pregnant without charting? Any suggestions would be great. Thank you!

Re: Where to start?

  • It's really up to you. Charting can add a lot of stress to TTC, so I would just enjoy the process for awhile and try charting later if you're not succesful.

  • Did you struggle conceiving your 6 year old?  Not that it's going to be the same for each kid, but that's where I would make the decision to start charting or not.

If you do decide to start charting, I learned everything I needed to know from the Fertility Friend tutorials. I was clueless beforehand.

  • There was no struggle conceiving my 6 year old. I had just turned 19,l was on BC, used a condom, and he pulled out:/

Where would I find fertility friend tutorials?
  • Definitely check out the fertilityfriend tutorials (www.fertilityfriend.com) regardless of whether you decide to start charting now or not. They're SUPER helpful. Like pps said, it's up to you when you want to start that. I personally wish I had started sooner (i waited a year) but some ppl wait awhile and don't regret it at all. It just depends. If you have normal cycles, then I don't see any medical reason to start immediately. Just relax, have fun, and enjoy the process. If you find yourself obsessing or wishing you knew more, then charting is never a bad idea. It will definitely help you with pinpointing ovulation so you can nail your timing down!

All that to say, check out the tutorials, ask questions here, then you're at least prepared in the event you decide you want to start charting :)
