Worried I cant get pregnant.

So let me give you a little backstory: In 2008 (at 20) I became pregnant with my then-boyfriend, this pregnancy turned out be a tubal ectopic pregnancy and there was some internal bleeding in my tube, thankfully we were able to repair it and I was able to keep the tube. Then in 2009 (at 21) I became pregnant again, this however was a 'technical pregnancy' resulting in an almost immediate miscarraige.

Then in 2010 or 2011 I found I had chlamydia, probably had it for about 2 years before treatment. Fast forward to now: I'm just about to be 26, in a much better place in life, and my fiance and I want to start trying to conceive. Im absolutely petrified that I wont be able to, given these past issues, and then the chlamydia. Im going to be scheduling an appointment with my gyno to discuss these things in the coming weeks, but I was wondering if anybody else had experience with things like this and were still able to conceive? Any advice or stories would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Worried I cant get pregnant.

  • I have no experience with those issues, but good luck TTC. Hopefully your gyno can set your mind at ease.

No experience, I just suggest talking to your doctor. I hope they can help.

  • I have no experience or advice there, but I hope your OBGYN has some good information for you. Given your past issues, I would almost suggest going straight to an RE, but that may be jumping the gun though. I'm torn. I'd see what your OBGYN has to say, have some basic testing done, and if they don't see any major cause for concern then just try for a few months. If you get to 6 months with no luck or you (God forbid) suffer another loss, I'd jump straight to the RE at that point. You're young, but given your past issues, I would say you could probably bypass the usual 1 year wait period before going to the RE. Either way, I wish you the best of luck!

@corrine88 - RE = Reproductive Endocrinologist. Basically, they're the experts on getting pregnant, especially if there are issues.

  • I don't think it would be a bad idea to share your concerns with your OB and hopefully you can get some reassuring information.
