with a new hairdresser.  The girl who did my wash and blowout at the spa last week was amazing.  I sort of want to give her a try.  I've been with my stylist for years and year, but lately I feel like she isn't listening to what I am asking her to do with my color or my cut and/plus/also she's about to have a baby any day now and is only going to working part time for the next year.

Have any of you ever "cheated" on your hairdresser?  If the new one doesn't work out have you gone back to the old stylist?  Why am I feeling so nervous and guilty about it?

I almost had a heart attack at the title!

I did cheat on my hairdresser about 6 years ago and it was the best decision I ever made. My color has never ben better and she actually takes time to do my hair and never complains. My hair is fairly long and super thick my hairdresser before was getting lazy and didn't want to blow dry it after cutting it. I will never go back!

If you decide you don't like the new one I don't see why you can't go back.

I've only changed hairdressers by moving, so I have no experience with cheating. I don't, however, think you need to feel guilty. If you're not happy you should move on.

Hahah way to get attention. I been thinking about leaving mine because she became the manager and she always gets pulled away to help with other things. I'm always at my place for like half a day. I say do it!

TL; DR- my hairdresser and the owner of the salon caused some drama with my family. I want to switch but have no idea where to go, so if you found a place you like- go for it. And then post pics

I'm thinking of breaking up with mine, long story, but I had an appointment a couple of weeks ago, and called ahead to cancel the color.

The owner answered (my mom and aunt go to her) and I knew she and my hairdresser knew exactly why.

So if course when I got there my hairdresser was all kinds of excited for me but I told her it was still a secret, and no one knew, so please don't talk about it with my family.

The owner wasn't there, and I guess she never got the message about it being secret, so when my aunt had an appt 2 days later the first thing the owner said was about me being pregnant.

My aunt was all upset, thinking I was telling other people without caring to tell her at all. I was pissed because she stole that moment from me. .. All around mess.

Anyway. It sucked but I think everyone is over it now.
Part of me feels like I should get over it, it was a misunderstanding, and continue there. Part of me feels like it was totally not cool and I won't have the same relationship with them now, so I should just go.

But how do you trust a new place? I mean- I can always go back if it doesn't work out, but in the mean time- have awful hair? Eeks.

I say- if you found someplace that you like- switch.
