Kitchen help

Hi all - I usually hang out on the Bump but got a lot of help here when we were doing some home projects a while ago. I really need opinions on something. We are in the middle of a bit of a nightmare kitchen renovation. Long story short, I just put new grey tile floors in my entryway and kitchen last year that I really like. They looked good with the white cabinets we had IMO. Now, we are installing different cabinets and I have no idea what to do for countertop, backsplash, and wall color. I'm not sure the floor and cabinets work very well together but there's nothing I can do about that now. We have white appliances and do not plan to change them anytime soon. So can anyone share ideas or inspirations for counter, backsplash and paint?

Also, I think the cabinet in this photo is installed wrong - way too close to the edge of the wall. I spoke to the contractor about moving it over already. I'm just using this because it's the best shot I have of the floor and cabinets together. (Please excuse the fact that everything from my kitchen is visible in boxes and bags piled up in my living and dining room in the background!)

Re: Kitchen help

  • Brown kitchen counter tops along with white or some light colored background will go well in your kitchen. There is a wide range of dark colored counter tops for kitchen at Omicron granite and you can easily choose the best for your kitchen

@thedash: Do you still need advice? I hesitate to throw ideas at you because from what you're saying —and the picture you posted!—you are stressed and need to know what to do next, and fast! Luckily, the finishes of your appliances and flooring—and your new cabs—are completely compatible with one another, so do not worry about that, at all! I will tell you that your number one priority, aside from finalizing the placement of the cabinets, is choosing a countertop: You can't cook in a kitchen without a good, stable work surface, but you can make do without a backsplash for a short while and you can CERTAINLY live with bare walls. If you share more of the specifics, I can offer more detailed advice: I eat, sleep, and breathe this stuff ;)
