NBR; Chicken and Waffles
I have never had chicken and waffles. It seems like such an.... odd combination. However, I trust my NBC peeps when they say it is delicious.
I am ordering out for lunch today at a local, more upscale pizza joint. They have chicken and waffles. Do I try it or wait and go to a place that's more authentic? I'd hate to ruin my experience on a bad example. Or is it something that can't be messed up?

At my favorite place, they are both sweet and savory. The waffles are the thick, dense, sweet liege style Belgians, but they drizzle syrup on the waffle, and hot sauce over everything. They are freaking amazing.

How far south would I have to go for good C&W? Like, could I find some delicious in the DC area when I'm down there this summer?

Yes! Absolutely. I'm still not sure exactly when, but probably late June for a long weekend. My brother and his family live in Bethesda, and we usually go down to visit them in the early summer. Usually when we're there we try to get into DC for one day of touristy stuff, to try and see at least one museum or monument we haven't gotten to before.
